Kriti Sanon admits being in tears after Adipurush co-starring Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan failed: ‘You feel a deep sadness…’

As a lifestyle expert with extensive experience in the entertainment industry, I admire Kriti Sanon‘s resilience and grace under pressure. Her ability to face setbacks like the underperformance of Adipurush, handle criticism constructively, and maintain a positive outlook is truly commendable.

2024 proved to be a prosperous year for Kriti Sanon with the releases of Crew and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, but she encountered one of her most substantial career disappointments in 2023 with Adipurush. The film, featuring Kriti alongside Prabhas, received negative feedback for its special effects and dialogue. In a recent interview, Kriti shared her profound sense of melancholy, saying, “It’s a deep sorrow that can make you shed tears as you ponder over what may have gone amiss.”

During an interview with Filmfare, Kriti Sanon opened up about managing criticism after the less-than-expected success of Adipurush. She confided that the disappointment from a movie’s failure can be overwhelming, causing deep sorrow and sometimes even tears, as one ponders over what could have been done differently.

Kriti Sanon admitted that as an actor, there are numerous factors that aren’t within her power to change. She suggested that the most effective strategy is to stay focused, work hard, and concentrate on upcoming projects. Despite the countless external factors she can’t control, she remains dedicated to performing her duties to the highest standard possible. In her own words, “I do my best to meet the demands of my role, given the many elements that are beyond my control.”

Adipurush faced criticism for potentially disrespecting religious feelings, but Kriti Sanon clarified that the team’s intention was never to offend. She explained that their approach is always guided by positive intentions and a desire to avoid causing hurt. However, she admitted that sometimes outcomes may not align with expectations, and it’s crucial to learn from such instances.

Kriti Sanon spoke about her attitude towards feedback, highlighting that she appreciates ‘constructive criticism’ and recognizes a difference between genuine feedback and comments rooted in others’ discontent. She shared that after watching her movies, she and her family gather for a cup of tea the next morning to offer honest opinions on the film. As Kriti stated, while constructive criticism is beneficial, it’s important not to let all criticism deeply affect her.

On June 16, 2023, Om Raut’s Adipurush, with Prabhas portraying Ram and Kriti Sanon as Sita, debuted in cinemas. Despite a wave of anticipation, both critics and viewers found the movie disappointing. Main complaints centered around the film’s dialogue, characterizations of Lord Hanuman and Ravana, and visual effects. Additionally, there were legal hurdles concerning the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in the Supreme Court; however, these issues eventually proved to be unfounded.
