Emily In Paris' Lily Collins Finally Explains What Draws Emily To Gabriel Every Season, And I Totally Understand The Relationship Better Now

As a seasoned gamer and avid binge-watcher of TV shows, I can confidently say that Emily in Paris is a delightful addition to Netflix’s lineup. The show’s characters are what truly make it shine, and none more so than the enigmatic duo of Gabriel and Emily. Their will-they-won’t-they romance has been a captivating rollercoaster ride for viewers, and I eagerly awaited their reunion in Season 4.

Without giving away spoilers for Season 4, Part 1 of “Emily in Paris”, currently streaming on Netflix, the remaining five episodes will air later this year as per the 2024 TV schedule in September. You can catch up on all the episodes with a Netflix subscription.

In simpler terms, “Emily in Paris” is a highly popular Netflix series that’s hard to resist binge-watching, and the reason for this lies primarily in its characters. Among the diverse cast, two standouts are Gabriel and Emily, who have left viewers intrigued about their romantic future. With these two playing pivotal roles in Season 4, Part 1, lead actress Lily Collins discusses why Emily consistently finds herself drawn to Gabriel amidst the abundance of men in Paris.

For those who’ve seen Emily in Paris, it’s common knowledge that Emily wasn’t with Gabriel at the end of the previous season. Instead, she was involved with Alfie (portrayed by Lucien Laviscount). Unfortunately, their relationship ended in the first episode of Season 4. Yet, Emily expresses her desire for a new romantic interest during “Masquerade”. Interestingly, by the finale of the same episode, Emily ends up back at Gabriel’s place.

Before the premiere, I had an opportunity to chat with Lily Collins, the actress portraying the title character, about the couple and why Emily keeps returning to Gabriel. She revealed during our interview for TopMob that Emily is drawn to him because he’s “mysterious.” Moreover, Gabriel was the first person she felt a significant connection with when she first arrived in France. This adds an extra layer of uniqueness to their relationship, as she expressed: Emily finds their bond truly extraordinary due to this initial spark they shared.

As a gamer, I can’t help but feel intrigued by this guy. The way they interact sets off my curiosity, making me eager to learn more. In the upcoming part, you’ll see how it affects their connection as well. Communication is key here, and I sense that he was the first one who caught Emily’s eye in Paris. There’s something about that initial encounter, that spark, that feels unfinished. With so many obstacles clouding their relationship over time, it seems like there are still unresolved issues between them. It’s more than just letting it fade away.

In a new city, surrounded by unfamiliar faces, the first sparks of connection can be incredibly potent, and I completely understand why Emily might find herself captivated by Gabriel. Those initial relationships formed are not just casual acquaintances; they’re the building blocks that shape our experiences and leave lasting impressions.

Collins went on to explain another factor that led Emily to commit to a relationship with Gabriel. As her personality isn’t one to ignore opportunities, she would have felt a sense of regret or missing out (FOMO) if she hadn’t given it a shot to see if things could work between her and the chef.

For Emily, she flourishes by seizing opportunities to try new things. Eventually letting herself dive in fully, experiencing life and taking the plunge, enables her to truly understand the experience. I believe she’d suffer from a strong fear of missing out (FOMO) if she didn’t.

In the course of its three full seasons, the series “Emily in Paris” has seen quite a few romantic entanglements. Personally, I found Alfie to be a much better fit for Emily, as he was incredibly charming and good-looking – in fact, it’s been said that the actor himself was a contender for the role of James Bond.

After listening to Collins’ thoughts, I must say that I have a much clearer understanding of Emily and Gabriel’s strong bond. To be honest, I’m now supporting their relationship – despite the chaos presented in Emily in Paris Season 3, which had me on the verge of tearing my hair out.

So, here’s hoping these two somehow work it out in Season 4 amidst all the drama.
