‘SNL’ Alum Victoria Jackson Says She Has an Inoperable Tumor Amid Cancer Battle

As a gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in virtual worlds, I can’t help but feel a profound sense of empathy for Victoria Jackson. Her strength and resilience in the face of such adversity are truly inspiring, much like a character in a game that overcomes seemingly insurmountable odds.

On a personal note, I’ve got some tough news to share. As part of my ongoing fight against cancer, medical professionals have discovered an incurable tumor in my windpipe. Saturday Night Live alum, that’s me!

On a recent Instagram post for her series “Is the Cancer Back?”, the comedian-actress announced on Wednesday that her cancer has come back. She further shared an approximate timeline of around three more years left in her life.

“[The doctors] can’t remove the stone-like object in my chest that’s resting against my windpipe, and if they don’t, it could ultimately lead to my asphyxiation,” Jackson clarified in the detailed video.

Regarding her treatment plan, she mentioned that her healthcare team will provide her with a special medication. “I’m expecting it at my doorstep in the next 12 hours,” she said. “This drug is called Ribociclib and it’s designed to shrink the tumor, ideally.” The main purpose of Ribociclib is to impede or halt the progression of cancer.

After studying the expected lifespan associated with the treatment, Jackson mentioned that those using the medication usually have approximately 2 years and 8 months left to live, more or less.

Despite facing her challenging health battle, the actress who starred in “Best Years Gone” maintained a positive outlook, expressing, “I’ve had an amazing life.” In the recorded interview, she further reflected, “You understand that we’re all destined to die, but when you see it written as ‘32.6 months remaining,’ it makes one ponder, doesn’t it? Yet, I wouldn’t trade a single moment of my journey.”

She additionally mentioned that there are several moments in life she yearns to experience before time runs out. “I hope to witness the birth of my grandson, Jimmy, scheduled for October, get to know him a bit, and I aspire to see my daughter Aubrey become a mother as well,” the comedian expressed.

Jackson, who disclosed her breast cancer diagnosis in 2016, was a regular cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1986 to 1992. She often graced the “Weekend Update” segment, and was particularly famous for her impressions of Roseanne Barr, Sally Struthers, and Zsa Zsa Gabor.

A few days ago, she announced on social networks that she would be undergoing a CT scan to determine if breast cancer had metastasized.

As a gamer, I’d rephrase it as follows: “Just got some tough news – I’ve been given approximately 34.8 more months to live unless an unexpected event like a meteor strike, encounter with a MAGA adversary, another round of Covid or the outbreak of WWIII alters my fate.”
