Did you know John Abraham and Nikkhil Advani didn’t speak after Salaam-E-Ishq's failure? Director on teaming after '20 years'; 'Huge comfort...'

As a seasoned observer of the dynamic world of Bollywood, I find it intriguing to witness the ebb and flow of collaborations between industry stalwarts like John Abraham and Nikkhil Advani. Their journey, marked by trials and triumphs, is a testament to resilience and the power of second chances.

20 years after their first collaborative project, Salaam-E-Ishq (2007), which didn’t fare well, Bollywood actor John Abraham and director Nikkhil Advani found themselves reunited for Satyameva Jayate. Looking back on their renewed partnership, Nikkhil expressed a sense of comfort when working with John, saying “It feels very comfortable to work with him, to be in his company.”

During a chat with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Nikkhil Advani disclosed that after their movie Salaam-E-Ishq, his interactions with John Abraham were limited. However, it was only when they teamed up for Satyameva Jayate that their friendship sparked again. Nikkhil mentioned that during the time apart, they were both engrossed in their individual endeavors and didn’t keep in touch much. They then collaborated on Batla House, and now share a strong and comfortable professional relationship, with Nikkhil expressing his comfort working alongside John.

In response to being asked about John Abraham’s response to the flop of Salaam-E-Ishq, Nikkhil Advani jokingly commented that they didn’t exchange words for two decades following the movie’s premiere. He further stated, “After Salaam-E-Ishq, I decided not to communicate with anyone.” Interestingly, Salaam-E-Ishq was launched 17 years ago, while their reunion occurred with Satyameva Jayate, which debuted 6 years later.

After the disappointment of Salaam-E-Ishq, Nikkhil Advani confessed that this setback had a profound impact on him. He disclosed that in an attempt to escape and find solace, he retreated to his bungalow in Alibaug, choosing isolation over communication with the outside world, including his own daughter. In simpler terms, he left Mumbai for Alibaug, closed himself off in his house, and chose not to communicate with anyone, not even his daughter.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t contain my excitement as Nikkhil Advani and John Abraham join forces once more for the highly anticipated film, “Vedaa.” This masterpiece also stars the captivating Sharvari Wagh. On August 15, this cinematic marvel will grace our screens, brought to life by Aseem Arora’s vision and backed by Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment, and JA Entertainment. The stellar cast includes none other than Tamannaah Bhatia, Abhishek Banerjee, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Kshitij Chauhan in pivotal roles, making “Vedaa” a must-watch!
