New Era Enlists Nigel Sylvester for "Forever New York" FW24 Campaign

As a lifelong resident of the concrete jungle and avid sports enthusiast, this New Era Fall/Winter 2024 collection has me hooked! The “Forever New York” theme resonates deeply with my roots, and I can’t help but feel a sense of pride seeing familiar faces like Dave East and Scottie Beam representing our city.

Just before the upcoming NFL kickoff next month, New Era has teamed up with the league for their Fall/Winter 2024 collection. This collaboration, directed creatively by BMX athlete Nigel Sylvester, is represented by the campaign “Forever New York.” Drawing inspiration from his local community in the city, Sylvester’s friends are featured modeling the brand-new apparel lineup.

The fashion-forward cast includes Harlem rapper Dave East, Queens native Greg Yuna (a jeweler), radio producer Scottie Beam, and others. With its “Forever New York” motif, this campaign pays tribute to sports teams like the New York Giants and the New York Jets, but the entire collection encompasses all 32 teams.

For many years, Sylvester has been motivated by the ability to innovate beyond the limits of sports, art, and fashion as an unusual athlete. In a statement, he expressed this: “I’ve been inspired throughout my unique athletic journey by the creative liberty to break boundaries.” He initially collaborated with the brand in 2017 for a New York Mets line. As a creative consultant for this campaign, Sylvester personally chose these individuals because of their creative expressions and significant influence within their local communities here in the city.
