In a recent discussion, Advani shared an insightful piece of advice given by Salman Khan regarding directing stars, which he deemed his “initial significant lesson” in the industry.
In a recent chat with PTI, film director Nikkhil Advani discussed his collaboration with Salman Khan during the making of Salaam-E-Ishq back in 2007. Nikkhil recalled an instance where Salman struggled to master the dance steps for a movie number.
During the shooting of Salaam-E-Ishq, the director persistently requested additional retakes. However, Salman decided to express his concern over the phone, suggesting that the director should have adjusted the dance moves instead. The star felt that the steps the filmmaker wanted could only be executed by a professional dancer.
According to Salman’s suggestion, Nikkhil pointed out that if one is to direct prominent actors or celebrities, it’s crucial to recognize their potential discomfort.
The director of Kal Ho Naa Ho admitted that sometimes, choreographers teach moves to actors that only stars such as Vicky Kaushal and Hrithik Roshan are capable of executing. He came to understand that not every actor possesses the ability to perform like them, which he acknowledged as his “first major lesson.”
Discussing John Abraham’s role in their latest release, Vedaa, Nikkhil added that he now queries him regarding the choreography of the dance sequence, should there be any mishaps.
In the movie titled “Vedaa,” John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh are featured as the principal characters. Additionally, Tamannaah Bhatia and Abhishek Banerjee also appear in this film. On August 15, Vedaa was premiered in cinemas to celebrate Independence Day.
It clashed with Khel Khel Mein and Stree 2 at the box office.
