As a long-time enthusiast of The Masked Singer, I eagerly await the arrival of Season 12! With its unique blend of mystery, music, and celebrity guessing games, this show has always kept me on the edge of my seat. The announcement of themed nights inspired by iconic movies like Footloose, Barbie, and the catalog of Miley Cyrus, not to mention sports night, 60s night, and Who Are You Fest, promises an exciting season full of surprises.

The popular show “The Masked Singer” is coming back this fall for its twelfth season, and it promises some thrilling themed nights. According to Variety, the upcoming tribute nights will draw inspiration from beloved movies like the iconic 80s film Footloose and the Oscar-nominated Barbie, as well as prominent pop stars such as Miley Cyrus.

In honor of the 40th anniversary of Footloose and Barbie’s upcoming 65th anniversary, The Masked Singer will be paying tribute to both. Miley Cyrus is set to have a night dedicated to her music catalog and influence within the industry, following her recent induction as a Disney Legend. Upcoming themed nights also include “Sports Night”, “60s Night”, and “Who Are You Fest”, which will feature music from iconic festival lineups. The Masked Singer has been incorporating themed nights for quite some time now, with returning favorites such as “Soundtrack of My Life” and “Thanksgiving Night”.

As a long-time fan of reality television, I am thrilled about the innovative changes coming to the upcoming season of the Masked Singer. With clues strategically embedded in costumes, song choices, and on-stage moments, it will be exciting to try and guess the identities of the singers. The added twist of each contestant having a celebrity Masked Ambassador, made up of previous participants, adds an extra layer of intrigue.

In January 2019, The Masked Singer made its debut as an extension of the Masked Singer franchise, initially conceived by Mun Hwa Broadcasting Corp from South Korea. This show revolves around the intrigue of figuring out which famous personality is hidden beneath elaborate costumes covering their entire bodies. Panelists attempt to deduce the singer’s identity using clues presented in video packages or given throughout the show. The audience votes, and the performer with the least support gets eliminated each week, leading to an unmasking and a major revelation about the singer’s true identity.

As a longtime fan of game shows, I have seen countless hosts come and go, but none have quite captured my heart like Nick Cannon. Having grown up watching his work, from “Wild ‘N Out” to “America’s Got Talent,” I was thrilled when he took on the role as host for this new show produced by Fox Alternative Entertainment.

I’ve been a fan of the show where famous faces from movies, TV, sports, and beyond make an appearance. This program has unearthed a diverse range of actors, athletes, comedians, and even hidden singers. Previous notable victors include T-Pain (Season 1), Nick Lachey (Season 5), Amber Riley (Season 8), Ne-Yo (Season 10), and more recently, the star of High School Musical, Vanessa Hudgens from Season 11. She’s been seen in the latest movie French Girl, now streaming on Prime Video.

The reality show titled “The Masked Singer” has been an enormous success on Fox, becoming their top-rated unscripted series. In the 2023-24 broadcast year, the program garnered a “0.6 Live + 7 Day rating among adults aged 18 to 49 and attracted 5.9 million viewers across multiple platforms, as reported by Fox.”

“The twelfth season of ‘The Masked Singer’ will broadcast on Fox this coming Wednesday, September 25th, at 8 PM Eastern Time. If you miss it, don’t worry, you can catch it the next day on Hulu.”
