I Am So Over-The-Top Excited About How Over-The-Top Excited Andor's Adria Arjona Is For Season 2

As a die-hard Star Wars fan with years of fandom under my belt, I can confidently say that I’m utterly thrilled about the upcoming seasons of various Star Wars shows and movies. However, it’s the impending second season of Andor that has me buzzing like a Tauntaun in a sandstorm! Tony Gilroy’s sci-fi drama left an indelible mark during its first season, delivering layered characters and some of the best storytelling ever to grace the galaxy far, far away.

I’m eagerly awaiting various Star Wars TV series and films in the future, but what really has me thrilled is the approaching Season 2 of Andor. Tony Gilroy’s sci-fi drama left a powerful impact during its initial season with its intricate characters and some of the finest storytelling yet in the galaxy far, far away. It’s no surprise that many fans are eagerly anticipating the second (and final) season, and they’re not alone in their excitement. One of the series’ cast members, Adria Arjona, is incredibly enthusiastic about the new episodes, and I share her enthusiasm!

Adria Arjona has been making a name for herself in Hollywood recently, appearing in movies and shows that have garnered much acclaim. One such example is her role in the series Andor, where she brilliantly portrays mechanic/black market dealer Bix Caleen. During an interview with THR, Arjona was complimented on her performance in the Star Wars franchise, which she gratefully acknowledged as a boost to her confidence. She also hinted at the second season of the series without revealing any spoilers. However, she did hint at some significant aspects regarding the show’s final episodes.

Reading season one left me in awe, and I had my doubts that season two could match up. But as I delved into episode one, I was pleasantly surprised to find it even more captivating than before. Tony Gilroy’s work on this project is nothing short of phenomenal, and I feel privileged to be involved in some way. We’ve become quite familiar with each other, and he seems to only take my calls among a select few. When I ask him for advice or chat, he playfully teases me about the frequency of my calls. My admiration for his talent knows no bounds, and I must say that season two truly showcases his exceptional skills as a writer.

As a long-time fan of “Father of the Bride,” I can’t help but feel thrilled at the news that its alum is so enthusiastically confident about Season 2! While some might say she’s just playing her part as an actor and promoting her upcoming production, her genuine enthusiasm doesn’t read like a sales pitch to me. Instead, it feels like a fan who can’t wait for the next season of their favorite TV show. Frankly, I love it when stars get this excited about their work!

He’s a really good chat, and he’s so funny. And the way he talks to me — no one believes in me more than Tony Gilroy. He sees things that I don’t see. He sees my value as an actor. I’m like, ‘I don’t know if I can.’ And he’s like, ‘What are you talking about? Yes, you can.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay. Yes, I can.’ He just believes in me so much, and he’s really turned into my godfather in this industry.

Tony Gilroy has undoubtedly made a name for himself as one of Hollywood’s top screenwriters, earning significant recognition through projects like the Bourne series, Michael Clayton, State of Play, and Rogue One (which served as the basis for Andor). His first season of Star Wars-related work set a high standard, so it’s intriguing to consider that the second season might even surpass it, as Adria Arjona suggests. Given Gilroy’s talent, I wouldn’t be surprised if he manages to excel and improve upon his exceptional previous work.

More on Andor

I Am So Over-The-Top Excited About How Over-The-Top Excited Andor's Adria Arjona Is For Season 2

As much as I adore Ahsoka as my favorite live-action Star Wars show, there’s one aspect where I yearn for it to be more like Andor: the depth and complexity of its narrative. Don’t get me wrong, I love the adventures of Ahsoka Tano, but I can’t help but feel that if it had a more intricate and layered storyline like Andor, it would elevate the show even further.

Following the actors and writers strikes in 2023, Season 2 of Andor was completed around February 2024. Diego Luna, who plays Cassian Andor, celebrated the event with a heartfelt message. Currently, details about the plot are scarce, but it appears that Cassian will transition from his criminal past to joining the Rebel Alliance in this season. Also confirmed is the return of characters from Rogue One, such as Ben Mendelsohn’s Orson Krennic and Alan Tudyk’s K-2SO. Overall, it seems that these new episodes will have strong connections to the movie that spawned the series.

I wasn’t anticipating Adria Arjona’s remarks about the show’s second season to further fuel my enthusiasm for it, but I can’t complain about that. What I find frustrating is just how long we have to wait until new episodes start airing. But if they live up to Arjona’s enthusiastic claims, then the delay will be worth it.

In 2025, we can anticipate the release of the second season for the show “Andor.” To watch it as soon as it airs, make sure you have an active Disney+ subscription ready. Plus, with that same subscription, you’ll be able to stream the first season, “Rogue One,” and other Star Wars content.
