NFL Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Was Allegedly ‘Irritated’ With One Specific Part Of His Brother’s Stint On The Bachelorette, And I Can’t Really Blame Him

As a gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in reality TV dramas, I must admit that the Rodgers family saga on The Bachelorette was one of the most intriguing storylines I’ve ever witnessed. The empty chairs at Jordan’s hometown date were undeniably awkward, and it’s not hard to see why Aaron felt irritated by his absence being highlighted in such a way.

In 2016, two prominent figures from the reality show franchise “The Bachelor,” JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers, found love on “The Bachelorette.” Despite being the brother of NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, it was evident to viewers that Aaron himself wouldn’t make an appearance. Interestingly, during that season of “The Bachelorette,” it was revealed that Aaron had a strained relationship with his family, and according to his recent biography titled “Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers,” there was one specific scene that particularly bothered him.

From the very start of Season 12 of The Bachelorette, it was clear that Jordan Rodgers preferred not to discuss his well-known brother. However, as he moved forward in JoJo Fletcher’s season, culminating in proposing to her during the finale, mentions of Aaron Rodgers persisted. During the Hometown stage, Jordan presented JoJo to his parents and sibling Luke, and an uncomfortable dinner setup with two vacant chairs seemed to irk Aaron Rodgers, as suggested by his biography (as reported by E!), which states:

Aaron felt annoyed when his family decided to record that entire scene, including the empty seats, since he wasn’t asked to join in. To be honest, even if he had been invited, he wouldn’t have attended. What irked Aaron was Jordan leveraging their private matters for a potential TV career boost.

In 2016, when I re-watched that particular episode, I find myself in agreement with Aaron Rodgers. The arrangement of the table seemed quite awkwardly uncomfortable given his absence, as he himself mentioned, since he hadn’t been invited and Jordan had stated clearly he wouldn’t attend. The vacant chairs seemed to imply that Aaron had declined an invitation from a family eager to embrace him warmly, but I sense the situation may be more intricate than it appears at first glance.

It’s evident that Aaron Rodgers believed Jordan was exploiting their disagreement and using it as a plot device to advance his own career. This might have been further fueled by JoJo Fletcher during the episode on July 18, 2016, when she suggested as much to the camera.

He comes from such an amazing family. It was so much love and so much character. But sitting down at that table, there’s two empty seats, and I know that they all probably wish Aaron was sitting in one of them. It’s hard because, like, that’s Jordan’s brother. That’s Luke’s brother, that’s Ed and Darla’s son. I have no idea, nor could I even imagine why Aaron wouldn’t want to be a part of their lives.

Following the broadcast of that particular episode, Aaron Rodgers eventually addressed Jordan’s appearance on The Bachelorette. It became evident that he was not in favor of their family’s dispute being aired publicly on television. During an interview at the Green Bay Packers training camp, he expressed his disapproval.

It’s typically not comfortable for me to discuss certain personal family issues in public, therefore I won’t delve into them. However, I hope he does well in the contest.

Jordan Rodgers excelled during the “contest.” He and JoJo Fletcher managed to sustain their relationship, finally getting married in 2022 after six years of courtship. It was mentioned that Aaron Rodgers received an invitation to the event but did not show up. There’s no information available about whether any seats were left vacant for him.

The NFL player’s biography Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers is available now.
