Netflix Drops Chilling Teaser for Ryan Murphy’s True Crime Anthology ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez’ Story

As a seasoned true crime enthusiast who’s been through countless documentaries and series, I can’t help but feel a chill down my spine with the upcoming release of Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. Having watched Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, I was left intrigued by this anthology series, and the Menendez brothers’ tale is one that has always fascinated me.

Fans of true crime stories have something exciting to look forward to! Netflix, along with Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, have unveiled a spine-chilling sneak peek for the upcoming season 2 of the real-life crime series, “Monsters.” This new installment, titled “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, continues the anthology series, following the 1996 trial where the Menendez brothers were convicted for murdering their own parents.

In this upcoming production, Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch will portray brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez, while Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny take on the roles of José and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menendez. Joining these principal actors are a talented ensemble that includes Nathan Lane as Dominick Dunne, Ari Graynor as Leslie Abramson, Leslie Grossman as Judalon Smyth, Dallas Roberts as Dr. Jerome Oziel, Paul Adelstein as David Conn, Jason Butler Harner as detective Les Zoeller, Enrique Murciano as Carlos Baralt, Michael Gladis as Tim Rutten, Drew Powell as detective Tom Linehan, Charlie Hall as Craig Cignarelli, Gil Ozeri as Dr. William Vicary, Jeff Perry as Peter Hoffman, Tessa Auberjonois as Dr. Laurel Oziel, Tanner Stine as Perry Berman, Larry Clarke as Brian Andersen, Jade Pettyjohn as Jamie Pisarcik and Marlene Forte as Marta Cano.

In a past trial, the siblings Lyle and Erik admitted to killing their parents due to fear. They explained that for years they had endured physical, emotional, and sexual abuse at their parents’ hands, which led them to take action. The defense countered by suggesting the brothers murdered their parents in order to claim their family estate. At present, both Lyle and Erik are serving life sentences without the possibility of parole. Co-executive producers alongside Murphy and Brennan are Bardem, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, David McMillan, Louise Shore, and Carl Franklin. Directors for individual episodes include Brennan, Franklin, Max Winkler, Paris Barclay, and Michael Uppendahl.
