Most notably, he held the positions of writer and later head writer on the series “Marvel’s What If…?”, which is set to conclude after its upcoming final season. Furthermore, Chauncey has penned episodes for the live-action “Ms. Marvel” series and is said to have written episodes for the upcoming limited animated series “Eyes of Wakanda”. Given his extensive expertise, it’s clear that he will bring a wealth of knowledge to the X-Men series. His appointment also ensures creative consistency as off-screen events unfold in relation to the show.
Marvel Studios And Beau DeMayo Are In The Middle Of A Back-And-Forth
A new development unfolded in the ongoing story about Beau DeMayo’s termination just a few days ago when he posted fan art on his social media platform during June, which was Pride Month, showing him as a partially naked Cyclops character. DeMayo asserted that Disney removed his Season 2 credits following this post. However, shortly after, Disney released a statement saying that DeMayo had been “terminated” after an investigation into the matter revealed severe misconduct.
According to various reports, both Beau DeMayo and Disney allegedly came to an understanding concerning his social media posts about the show. This reportedly led to the removal of his credits in the second season. DeMayo contends that his previous employers attempted to deceive by falsely accusing him of breaking contractual terms due to tweets.
Beyond this issue, sources inside the industry assert that the former Moon Knight actor was accused of inappropriate sexual behavior during his time on X-Men ’97. Known as InSneider, the accuser claimed that the ex-Marvel writer would share photographs of himself partially undressed to junior staff members, alleging this was meant as inspiration for the show. Additional claims include the fired head writer groping an assistant and displaying abusive behavior, both physically and verbally. In response, through his attorney Bryan Freedman, the creative individual denies these allegations, accusing Disney of manipulation, and in a statement to The Streamr, Freedman stated:
As a longtime media industry insider with extensive knowledge of the entertainment world, I can confidently state that the allegations being made against Beau regarding his OnlyFans account and Disney are unfounded and defamatory. My personal experiences have taught me that the corporate landscape can be ruthless, and often those who rise to the top face unfair scrutiny.
At present, this state of affairs continues to unfold, and its eventual resolution is yet unclear. Moving on, the second season of X-Men ’97 has been planned and appears to focus on Apocalypse. Following that, Matthew Chauncey will carry forward the narrative, and given his past achievements and Emi/Emmett Yonemura’s endorsements, he seems a suitable choice for the position.
