'GRIT & MAGIC' by DREAMHAUS Is a Toast to Young Creatives

As a gamer with a soft spot for art and community empowerment, I was thoroughly captivated by DREAMHAUS‘ ‘GRIT & MAGIC’ exhibition at SUPERVSN. The energy and creativity that radiated from this event were truly electrifying!

How do you progress towards your future? This question reflects the core idea behind ‘GRIT & MAGIC’, a project by the Los Angeles-based creative collective and non-profit, DREAMHAUS. Over the weekend, they displayed the culmination of their internship program at SUPERVSN. The exhibition was in conjunction with “The Road To Lost Emotions,” another initiative by DREAMHAUS, a 360° mobile experience.

Established by Nikkolas Mohhamed and Mike Reesé in South Central, DREAMHAUS aims to draw inspiration from fine art to foster and nurture local budding artists. The culmination of their summer internship program, titled ‘GRIT & MAGIC’, showcased the works of four promising artists – Kaya Balugo, Tina Rudasingwa, Youree Choi, and Dylan Uema. This program functioned as a guide for participants to find their footing in the creative industry, helping them refine their personal objectives and passions. The projects ranged from a mixed-media animation, a tactile magazine, a short film, and a 21-day anti-burnout ritual; each brimming with distinct energy and creativity.

The exhibition took place together with “The World’s Playground of Forgotten Feelings,” a fresh interpretation of the DREAMHAUS art car. Decorated with custom leather and floral patterns, this artwork embodies the essence that fuels the group’s creative process. The touchable and engaging aspects of the vehicle emphasize the significance of identity, purpose, and connection. Soaring to new levels, DREAMHAUS utilizes raw creativity to achieve the extraordinary.
