You’ll Soon Be Able To Play 'Fortnite' in Your Mercedes-Benz

As someone who has spent countless hours huddled around consoles and PC screens, I can honestly say that the future of gaming is here and it’s in my car! Mercedes-Benz, a brand synonymous with luxury and innovation, has teamed up with Boosteroid to bring cloud gaming into the driving experience.

Mercedes-Benz has teamed up with Boosteroid, a leading global cloud gaming service provider, during this year’s Gamescom event. The goal of this partnership is to enhance in-car entertainment experiences by incorporating Boosteroid’s extensive game library into the Mercedes-Benz MBUX infotainment system, starting from select vehicles in the coming year.

Through this partnership, drivers and passengers can unlock over a thousand games, including hit titles such as Fortnite and Sea of Thieves, directly from their vehicles. This exciting addition falls under the MBUX Entertainment Package Plus, created to deliver an engaging gaming experience within cars fitted with the latest third-generation MBUX system. The Boosteroid app can be found in the in-car App Store, allowing users to play their preferred games, but remember, you can only do so when your vehicle is stationary.

At Gamescom, attendees have the chance to try out this innovative technology up close at the SK Gaming booth. Here, a Mercedes-Benz E-Class vehicle will demonstrate its latest in-car gaming functionality. Magnus Östberg, the Chief Software Officer at Mercedes-Benz, highlighted the importance of this collaboration by saying, “The cloud-based gaming system is the perfect method to deliver top-tier gaming experiences to both our customers and gaming enthusiasts.”

With cloud gaming on the rise, forecasting that about 90% of gamers will opt for cloud-based gaming by the start of the 2030s, Mercedes-Benz’s partnership with Boosteroid places this luxury automaker at the forefront of this emerging trend. The Boosteroid app is slated to launch in Europe, North America, and South America by 2025.
