Charithra Chandran Joins ‘One Piece’ Season 2 at Netflix

As a seasoned gamer and avid anime fan, I can’t help but feel a rush of excitement upon hearing the news that Charithra Chandran, the captivating actress from Bridgerton, is joining the cast of Netflix’s One Piece! With her talent and charm, she’ll undoubtedly breathe life into the character of Miss Wednesday.

Charithra Chandran, known for her breakout role as Edwina Sharma in the grandiose Bridgerton drama, is preparing to join the cast of the second season of Netflix’s live-action pirate series One Piece. This show centers around a young, extraordinary pirate captain who aims to discover the greatest treasure.

Chandran joins the main cast playing Miss Wednesday, joining other newly announced actors such as Katey Sagal portraying Dr. Kureha, Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk, Sendhil Ramamurthy taking on the character Nefertari Cobra, and Brendan Sean Murray assuming the role of Brogy.

The Netflix series “One Piece” is based on the live-action version of Eiichiro Oda’s manga, following the story of Monkey D. Luffy, a spirited youth from a small village embarking on a treacherous voyage in search of the mythical treasure known as One Piece. His goal? To ascend to the throne as the Pirate King, all while navigating numerous dangerous adversaries along the way.

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share that the star-studded cast for the second season features Callum Kerr portraying Smoker, Camrus Johnson stepping into the role of Mr. 5, Clive Russell bringing Crocus to life, and Daniel Lasker embodying Mr. 9. The returning cast for the beloved series, One Piece, includes Iñaki Godoy reprising his role as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu continuing as Zoro, Emily Rudd back as Nami, Jacob Romero once again playing Usopp, Taz Skylar resuming his role as Sanji, Ilia Isorelys Paulino returning as Alvida, Jeff Ward reprising Buggy’s character, and Michael Dorman continuing as Gold Roger.

Production for Season 2 is currently underway in Cape Town, South Africa, where more cast members are soon to be revealed. The anime series “One Piece” was jointly developed with Shueisha and produced by a collaboration between Tomorrow Studios, ITV Studios, and Netflix.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to be part of the team led by Matt Owens and Joe Tracz, who share the roles of co-showrunners, writers, and executive producers. Joining them are none other than Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, and Steven Maeda. It’s a dream come true to work with such esteemed individuals on this project!
