As a gamer with over three decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen countless shows come and go like pixels on a screen. Yet, none has tugged at my heartstrings quite like Blue Bloods. This show has been a steady companion for many years, a reliable friend in an ever-changing gaming world.
The TV series “Blue Bloods” has been prolonging its final chapter. Unlike many shows that ended in 2024, it’s still ongoing, with CBS dividing the final season into two segments. The lead actor, Tom Selleck, has been vocal about his desire for the show to continue beyond the 2024 fall TV premiere. However, it remains unclear what CBS thinks about Selleck’s comments regarding the future of the series.
As a devoted fan, I’ve been holding on to the hope that my favorite show, Blue Bloods, won’t be ending anytime soon. Even though production wrapped up in June, there’s been a groundswell of support from fans and especially from the legendary Frank Reagan himself, Tom Selleck. He’s made it clear that he believes CBS will eventually realize their mistake and give us more episodes. As he put it, “I believe CBS will come to their senses” and as another time, he asserted, “There are a lot of people who aren’t ready to say goodbye to it.” Here’s crossing my fingers and keeping my toes crossed that we get to see more of the Reagan family in action!
As a gamer, I’ve heard some chatter about the actor expressing concerns over how losing the show might affect Selleck’s ranch management. But here’s the thing, from what I’ve gathered, CBS executives aren’t exactly swayed by that argument. In fact, when this was discussed with Closer Weekly, the insider didn’t mince words about their feelings on the matter.
As a gamer, I find it hard to relate when someone like myself, who’s just enjoying the game of life, is labeled as an entitled brat. It’s true that I’m living comfortably on my sprawling 63-acre ranch, but let’s not forget that my success is linked to the hundreds of dedicated individuals who keep this production running.
1. The remark, regardless of its accuracy, carries a strong tone of animosity. Moreover, the source added that the pressure will primarily fall upon the numerous individuals working unseen to produce the program.
A significant number of these dedicated workers are said to earn less than $100,000 annually, leaving them with apprehension and economic stress as the program concludes.
The interesting thing to note about these insider’s comments is that presumably the insider and those other lower-paid individuals on Blue Bloods would want the same thing. Everyone wants to be paid and (most) everyone wants a steady job with longevity. For years, that’s exactly what Blue Bloods was. While Tom Selleck has an idea for what he wants to do next on TV, and others will no doubt find other Hollywood gigs, with Netflix and other places canceling projects after one season, there’s certainly less stability in many places than on a long-running network show.
It’s understandable that cast and crew members might feel sad as their drama comes to an end, but I can’t fault Selleck for trying to convince CBS to reconsider, especially since there’s still a chance and the show continues to attract good ratings. (Whether it will be successful remains to be seen.)
Television can often be a gamble, with many series getting cut short prematurely. However, the show “Blue Bloods” managed to last an impressive 14 seasons on air. When CBS eventually decided to cancel it, they provided the creative team with an extended two-season notice to conclude the storylines properly. This is significantly more consideration than other CBS shows like “NCIS: Hawaii”, “CSI: Vegas”, and “So Help Me Todd” received this past season, causing upset among their fans.
I’m set to bid farewell this autumn, but if luck leans towards the brave (and the Blue team), I wouldn’t find it surprising at all.
