Oh boy, here we go again! As a long-time fan of the Yakuza series, I can hardly contain my excitement for the RGG Summit 2024. It’s been a rollercoaster ride since the release of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth earlier this year, and I’m eager to see what they have in store for us next.
Tensions are running high between Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio teams, following the announcement of RGG Summit 2024’s air date. We can’t wait to see what they have in store for the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise, with some big revelations on the horizon.
Gaijin Entertainment’s Rya Ga Gotoku Studio has officially revealed that the RGG Summit 2024 will unfold on September 20 at 3 a.m. Pacific Time, 6 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, and 11 a.m. British Summer Time. Moreover, it’s anticipated that they will unveil their upcoming Yakuza or Like a Dragon title during this event.

Despite the fact that Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth was just launched in January 2024, RGG is already moving full steam ahead with what’s coming next. It remains to be seen if this will be another primary game or a spin-off similar to Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
In August 2024, SEGA filed for a trademark called “Yakuza Wars”. Details are scarce, but it seems that live-action and CG versions of the Minato Girls will be included, similar to hostesses in previous games. Whatever they’re planning, RGG Studio has hinted that we should expect to be “taken aback” by their announcement.
At the Tokyo Game Show from September 26 to 29, attendees of the RGG Summit may catch a glimpse of what lies ahead – could it potentially be the return of Judgment? Moreover, given that Japanese residents have a chance to secure tickets, we anticipate an exceptionally grand RGG Summit in 2024.
