Carrie Coon, Lauren Lapkus Deal With Parenting Foibles in ‘Another Happy Day’ Trailer (Exclusive)

As a mother myself, I can’t help but feel a profound connection to the upcoming comedy feature “Another Happy Day.” The trailer alone has me giggling and nodding my head in recognition of those early days of new motherhood, when you’re not quite sure if you’re a mom or just someone who happens to have a baby.

In the initial trailer, Lauren Lapkus and Carrie Coon are the leading stars of the upcoming parenting-centric comedy movie titled “Another Happy Day“.

On October 1, Gravitas Ventures will make the film by writer-director Nora Fiffer available for streaming on all major digital platforms. The cast includes Marilyn Dodds Frank, Jean Elie, Hanna Dworkin, Alex Weisman, and Tim Kazurinsky. In this movie, the central character, artist and new mother Joanna (Lapkus), finds an unexpected connection with her distant aunt Miriam (Dodds Frank) as she navigates the challenges of adjusting to her new life.

“In the trailer, Lapkus clarifies that she’s not actually a mother, but rather someone who has a child. Later on, she expresses her deep longing for family support, stating, ‘You have no clue how much I yearn for family at this moment.'”

Apart from penning and orchestrating the film Another Happy Day, Fiffer also takes on a producing role together with Quinn Nicholson.

Fiffer declared in her statement that the movie she was referring to was “the film I would have loved to watch before becoming a mother.” She further mentioned that the film’s crew was dedicated to establishing a work environment accommodating for parents, caregivers, and those who value a balanced workspace. They offered childcare services for both cast and crew, and they adhered to eight-hour working shifts. These measures were implemented because the movie centered around the postpartum experience. However, regardless of the storyline, they emphasized prioritizing the wellbeing of their filmmaking team.

Lapkus expressed, “I found this project incredibly significant for me, not just as an actor, but also as a mother and a longtime admirer of Nora Fiffer’s impressive talent. This story is both distinctive and familiar, and it was truly rewarding to have the opportunity to be part of such a vital conversation.”
