The Big Bang Theory ‘Adult’ Parody Has A Surprising IMDB Rating

The Big Bang Theory 'Adult' Parody Has A Surprising IMDB Rating

As a longtime fan of “The Big Bang Theory,” I find myself both amused and bewildered by the existence of “Big Bang Theory: A XXX Parody.” On one hand, it’s an intriguing twist on a beloved show, but on the other, it’s as far from the original as a neutron star is from a black hole.

It appears that a pornographic adaptation of a well-known CBS sitcom has surprisingly received a high rating on IMDb, a fact similar to the Internet’s “Rule 35” which states that if any pop culture property exists, there will eventually be a porn parody version of it.

Released in 2010, a parody movie named “The Big Bang Theory: An Adult Version,” rated 5.4 out of 10 on IMDb, showcases a creative twist on the popular TV series “The Big Bang Theory” by Chuck Lorre. This rating is an average; in fact, 23.4% (or 40 individuals) gave it a perfect score, while 17% (29 people) opted for a more moderate 6 out of 10 and 15.2% (26 users) chose a 5 out of 10. On the other hand, 11.7% (20 viewers) weren’t impressed and rated it just 1 out of 10. Seems like “The Big Bang Theory: An Adult Version” wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, possibly due to its extended runtime of approximately 2 hours and 43 minutes.

As per the IMDb listing, all primary characters in “The Big Bang Theory” – Sheldon Cooper, Leonard Hofstadter, Howard Wolowitz, Raj Koothrappali, and Penny – are portrayed, even though they’re not played by original actors Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, and Kaley Cuoco. Interestingly, despite the ensemble of nerds and a charming female lead that seems tailor-made for an adult film spoof, the actual series is surprisingly modest when it comes to explicit sexual content.

The idea of a Big Bang Theory porn parody is extra shocking because the original show is so demure

In the TV series “The Big Bang Theory,” many male characters exhibit unkind behavior towards their partners, and this often stems from sexual attraction. While Leonard Hofstadter portrays himself as a gentleman, he frequently demeans Penny by openly objectifying her, even boasting about being with her in front of fans who remember her nude scene in a film. Howard Wolowitz, on the other hand, is quite crude; he employs drones to find models at home, installs cameras in stuffed animals, and uses remote-controlled cars to secretly photograph women in the early episodes of the show. (Yes, he eventually marries Melissa Rauch’s character, Bernadette Rostenkowski, but his past behavior remains problematic.)

In the show, we have Sheldon, who treats his romantic relationship with Amy, played by Mayim Bialik, with disdain and superiority. Whenever Amy proposes taking their relationship to the next level, such as holding hands or kissing, Sheldon reacts as if she’s insane for suggesting it and eventually agrees that they can have sexual intercourse once a year when they’re married. It’s important to note that “Big Bang Theory: A XXX Parody” shares very little in common with the original series when you consider all of this.

A new spin on The Big Bang Theory is coming (but not a risqué one)

In the spring of 2023, it was revealed that another spin-off of “The Big Bang Theory” is set to air on Max. This announcement comes even though t A XXX Parody.”

Apart from the as-yet unnamed spin-off based on “The Big Bang Theory,” another spin-off is in development, centered around Sheldon’s older brother Georgie (played by Montana Jordan) and his wife Mandy (Emily Osment). This one is titled “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.” It remains uncertain if the upcoming “Big Bang Theory” spin-off will revolve around other characters such as ‘young Penny,’ ‘young Leonard,’ ‘young Howard,’ or ‘young Raj.’ Regardless, this new spin-off might be less explicit than the adult-themed parody of the original series.

“The Big Bang Theory” — the demure version — is streaming on Max now.
