As a seasoned gamer who’s been through countless elections and TV schedules, I can tell you that the upcoming fall is shaping up to be a rollercoaster ride of epic proportions! The election fever is about to reach its peak, and it seems our beloved shows like “The Voice” are not immune to its impact.

This upcoming fall, a fresh season of “The Voice” is set to air according to the 2024 television schedule. However, it’s important to note that this isn’t the only significant event happening during this season – the United States will also be electing a new president in November. The build-up to Election Day may cause some disruptions in our usual TV lineups, and “The Voice” is among the shows that could experience some scheduling chaos. In this new season, Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire (current champion), and returning coach Gwen Stefani will all take their places in the Big Red Chairs.

Debates And Election Coverage Will Affect The Primetime TV Schedule

As a devoted viewer, I’m thrilled to share that upcoming debates between presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, along with their respective running mates, Tim Walz and JD Vance, are set to reshape our TV schedules. ABC is hosting the presidential debate on Tuesday, September 10th, but according to The Futon Critic, that night will see all major networks – CBS, NBC, and Fox – forgo their regular programming in favor of coverage of this significant event.

Every network plans to broadcast a unique election special at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. The debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.

On October 1st, similar disruptions to your Tuesday night schedule are likely, as vice presidential candidates engage in a face-off. Once again, one-hour specials for the election will air simultaneously on ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, followed by a debate between JD Vance and Tim Walz being broadcasted on all four networks.

On Election Night, if you’re not interested in watching states change colors from blue to red on November 5th, then it might be best to keep your television off.

How The Voice Season 26 Will Be Affected

Due to the upcoming elections causing a temporary shortage of election-related programming on primetime television for several weeks, the popular show The Voice is facing some disruption since it usually airs episodes on both Monday and Tuesday evenings. For Season 26, which starts on Monday, September 23, there will only be one episode per week until after the October 1 vice presidential debate, according to TV Insider’s reports.

On the first two weeks of October (starting September 23 and 30), we’ll have two special Blind Audition episodes airing on Mondays instead of the usual Monday/Tuesday schedule. Starting October 7 and 8, we’ll return to our regular schedule. Additionally, keep in mind that there will be no new episode of The Voice on Election Night, which is November 5th (Tuesday).

I was eagerly anticipating that The Voice would reintroduce Live Playoffs for Season 26, yet I can’t help but ponder if the chaotic schedule might thwart this plan. Moreover, I’m apprehensive about another season filled with recap episodes. However, these are minor complaints as I’m genuinely thrilled about the fresh combination of The Voice coaches this season. Plus, peeking ahead, I can hardly contain my excitement for Adam Levine’s return in 2025 to Season 27 of The Voice.
