Grand Seiko Unveils Its Fall Timepieces for 2024

Oh boy, I tell ya, as someone who’s had their heart stolen by timepieces that whisper the beauty of craftsmanship, Grand Seiko never fails to sweep me off my feet! This fall, they’ve unveiled a lineup that makes me feel like I’m strolling along the banks of Atera River itself.

As the autumn season arrives, Grand Seiko has introduced its fresh collection of timepiece innovations. This introduction includes four new watch models, which encompass a Spring Drive model, a Hi-Beat 3600, as well as two limited edition 45GS Re-Creation pieces.

Spring Drive 5 Days SLGA025 “Atera Bue”

Priced at $10,500 USD, the SLGA025 is the newest piece in Grand Seiko’s Evolution 9 Collection. This timepiece takes its design cues from the Atera River in Nagano prefecture, home to the Spring Dive timepieces. The dial of the SLGA025 features a textured emerald blue reminiscent of the clear, flowing waters of Atera Valley. With a 40mm case size and a robust high-intensity titanium build, it also comes with a matching metal bracelet. Powering this watch is the Spring Drive 5 Days 9RA2 caliber, capable of an impressive 120-hour power reserve.

Hi-Beat 36000 SBGH347 “Icefall”

The new addition to the Grand Seiko Heritage Collection, the SBGH347, showcases a unique dial pattern inspired by the winter scene of Mount Iwate’s frozen Nantaki waterfall, known as the “Icefall” design. This dynamic and captivating pattern mimics the motion of ice falling, while its cool bluish-white color enhances the icy ambiance. Powered by the Hi-Beat 9S85 caliber with a remarkable 36,000 hourly vibrations, this timepiece offers an impressive 55 hours of uninterrupted operation. Priced at $6,900 USD, the watch is crafted in stainless steel, showcasing Grand Seiko’s exceptional polishing techniques, and comes with a matching steel bracelet.

As a gamer, I’m excited to share that in November, we’re unveiling two special editions of the 445GS watch, a tribute to the iconic models first released in 1968. These watches beautifully capture the vintage charm of their predecessors while incorporating modern advancements for today’s users. Under the hood, both watches are powered by the manual-winding 9SA4 caliber, a high-precision movement boasting an impressive 80-hour power reserve.

The SLGW004 model sports a 200-piece limited edition design, boasting an 18k yellow gold case and a cream-colored dial, priced at approximately $30,000 USD. On the other hand, the SLGW005 is a more affordable option in a classic stainless steel finish with an off-white dial. With a production limit of 1,300 units, this model retails for around $9,700 USD.
