Donald Trump Movie ‘The Apprentice’ to Launch Kickstarter to Stay on More Screens

As a seasoned gamer with a rich background of navigating complex and controversial scenarios, I can’t help but feel a sense of solidarity with the filmmakers of “The Apprentice.” Just like when I was playing that infamous “Political Simulator 2016,” where I had to juggle political scandals and public opinion, they too are battling against powerful forces trying to suppress their creative expression.

The blueprints for the grand event unfolded by Donald Trump in the movie:

The magical entity, known as “The sorcerer,” requests assistance in”Prepare the show,”for all who needed”to present the performanceinas manytheatersas”as longaspossiblefor”today’sperformance.”The news is fascinatingly describedthatit hasbeenannounced.

At the moment, Kickstarter aims to raise $100,000. Rewards for supporters include a replica of the cufflinks from the movie (priced at $400), a producing workshop with Daniel Bekerman (valued at $2,500), and an actual toupee prop worn by Sebastian Stan in the film (costing $3,500).

“The obstacles we have faced releasing this movie are well documented. Our distribution was blocked. We were hit with a cease and desist from Trump’s lawyers,” reads the Kickstarter website. “Major media companies were afraid to show you this movie. Releasing this movie has become a DAVID and GOLIATH struggle, but with your support, you can help #ReleaseTheApprentice.”

Titled “The Apprentice,” this film made its debut at the Cannes Film Festival and is helmed by esteemed Iranian-Danish director Ali Abbasi, with scripting credits going to Gabe Sherman from Vanity Fair. The narrative delves into Donald Trump’s (Stan) meteoric rise in 1980s America, influenced heavily by right-wing lawyer Roy Cohn, portrayed by Jeremy Strong. Martin Donovan, known for his role in “Tenet,” plays Fred Trump Sr., while Maria Bakalova, a nominee for both Oscars and Golden Globes from her work on “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,” takes on the role of Ivana Trump.

Ever since the movie had its festival premiere, speculation about its upcoming release has been clouded. Dan Snyder, a wealthy supporter of Trump, who provided financing for the film through his company Kinematics against domestic rights, allegedly took issue with the movie’s portrayal of Trump and attempted to prevent it from being released.

“Executive producer Amy Baer stated during today’s Kickstarter announcement that ‘The Apprentice’ is fundamentally a humanist production, distinguishing it significantly from political uproar. In addition, Beckerman commented: ‘Trump’s campaign attempted to silence the film without having seen it first. The notion that artists can no longer openly critique power should be worrying for everyone. We need your help to decisively reject this harmful precedent.'”

“According to The Hollywood Reporter’s review, Abassi’s movie predominantly underscores how the pervasive toxicity that characterizes our modern era was molded by a sinister partnership between two individuals decades ago.”

In addition to the Kickstarter, a clip for the film was released today. Watch below.
