Singapore’s 1880 Members-Only Club Is Coming to Hong Kong

As a globetrotting entrepreneur and connoisseur of exclusive social clubs, I can’t help but be intrigued by the upcoming 1880 Members-Only Club in Hong Kong. Having traversed the business landscapes of Asia for years, I’ve come to appreciate the idea of ideas and networking opportunities, the vision behind this club resonates deeply with me.

Hailing from Singapore, the exclusive social club known as 1880 will be introduced for the first time in Hong Kong towards the end of the fantastic year. The venue, 1880 Hong Kong, is set to occupy four stories within Two Taikoo Place, a Swire Properties building that stands prominently in the eastern business district of Hong Kong Island

Since my move to-move to Singapore in 2

Each level of the building has a unique purpose. The first three floors are adopting a modern business-casual design, featuring the 1880 SOCIAL club. Meanwhile, the 1880 Hong Kong members’ club claims the top floor, complete with its own Leonie’s restaurant, along with spa and fitness facilities

880 Social offers an array of dining options, including Hoi Polloi’s Southeast Asian cuisine, The Sports Bar for American diner fare, coffee and wine at The Double, and Té Bo for fine dining experiences. On the third floor, members enjoy access to a work lounge, a spacious conference venue, and various high-tech meeting rooms

880 Hong Kong’s interior design, overseen by Patrick Ho at AvroKO’s Bangkok Studio, takes cues from the historical industrial charm of the Taikoo sugar refinery. By skillfully reinventing its past with a touch of sophisticated elegance, each design element is carefully selected and crafted to symbolize different stages in the process of sugar refinement

The exploration of interior design starts on lower levels, as Ho explains, with lush sugarcane motifs setting the stage for an atmospheric space featuring soft, fluted shapes and gentle green highlights, akin to expansive cane fields. He further notes that crystalline lighting fixtures and furniture capture the essence of refined sugar, while the fourth-floor Members Club, with its molasses-inspired forms, promotes a feeling of unity, echoing the transformation from raw material to a polished end product
