“I’ve encountered him in various productions, among them Ordinary People – quite the tear-jerker! As soft as I can be, this movie really got to me. In particular, there’s a scene where Judd Hirsch’s character, the therapist, provides comfort. They meet at his office, and he’s on the verge of tears, experiencing some sort of breakthrough. Then, Tim Hutton asks him, ‘Are we friends?’ To which Judd Hirsch replies, ‘You can certainly rely on me.’ And they embrace.”
