Robert De Niro Warns Democrats Not to Become Complacent Ahead of Election: “It Ain’t Over Till It’s Over”

As a gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in various virtual worlds, I can’t help but draw parallels between the political landscape and the epic battles we face in our favorite games. The stakes are high, the opponents formidable, and the journey is filled with twists and turns.

On Sunday, Robert De Niro and Steve Buscemi joined other famous Hollywood figures in the “Friends of Kamala: Paisans Edition,” an online event that showcased influential Italian Americans aiming to boost support and funds for the Harris-Biden campaign.

Robert De Niro initiated the gathering, which was helmed by comedian Paul Mecurio and ex-New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, by expressing optimism about Kamala Harris and Tim Walz potentially winning the 2024 presidency. However, he cautioned their supporters against becoming overconfident.

He expressed a great deal of positivity regarding the situation, stating, ‘I’m really looking forward to it, but I never consider anything settled until it truly is. We can’t let our guard down for even a moment because we understand that they will attempt every trick in the book when election day arrives. When will these issues be resolved? What challenges might arise? What tactics could they employ to cause confusion? We know these things are imminent, and so we must remain constantly alert. The game isn’t over until it’s really over.’

De Niro expressed his hope that the Democratic duo of Harris and Walz will defeat the Republican team of Donald Trump and JD Vance in the election, and that such victory would prevent another incident like the January 6th Capitol riot from happening again.

I hope, if it turns out to be Kamala and Walz in charge, those responsible for the events on January 6th might pause before taking similar actions, regardless of what Trump says. After all, people often face consequences for their choices, and is it really worth it for them? This particularly applies when someone like him is leading them. It’s just hard to fathom.

De Niro expressed his hope that certain Trump supporters might find resonance in the Harris-Walz duo.

As a gamer, I believe many Trump supporters might discover that there’s a better fit for them elsewhere because Trump doesn’t seem to deliver what they’re looking for. History has shown us this pattern in various countries and eras – people trying to control a figure like him, thinking it will be easy. But if, heaven forbid, he were to take charge, those who thought they could manage him would soon learn otherwise.

During the gathering, Steve Buscemi expressed his thoughts about Harris, describing her as “intelligent, resilient, compassionate, robust, welcoming, and exceptionally capable.

He expressed, “There are numerous matters and policies under discussion: affordable healthcare, education, environmentally sound projects, and implementing reasonable gun control measures.” He then questioned, “Why are books being banned instead of automatic weapons? I also believe it’s crucial to uphold a woman’s right to make her own choices regarding reproduction, while respecting individuals who choose not to have children. The future belongs to all of us. My apologies to JD.

Buscemi also shared his concerns about a second Trump presidency.

It’s understood that there’s no flawless candidates or leaders, and we won’t always share the same views on every policy or decision, whether they be domestic or foreign. But that’s alright because we live in a country where free speech is valued and peaceful protests are allowed. And voting is a privilege that should never be underestimated. However, what concerns me about another term for Trump is his inflexible nature – he’s the type who insists on his own way. He boasts about hiring the best people, but in reality, he’s let go of many of them. If elected again, he’ll likely be surrounded by individuals who are only loyal to him and his methods. We’ve seen before that he’s willing to do anything, even stir up violence, to maintain power.

Some other well-known Hollywood actors slated to join the live broadcast include Mark Ruffalo, Alyssa Milano, Lorraine Bracco, Lisa Ann Walter, Marisa Tomei, John Turturro, and Patti LuPone.
