As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen enough anime adaptations to know that casting rumors are as common as grass in a field. However, the buzz surrounding Joe Manganiello potentially playing Crocodile in One Piece Season 2 has piqued my interest.
The manufacturing process for Season 2 of “One Piece” has started, and we’ve been thrilled with some fantastic casting news thus far. David Dastmalchian is taking on the role of Mr. 3, while internet detectives guessed that Dr. Kureha would be played by Katey Sagal before it was made official. It appears fans might be onto another significant revelation in casting, as they speculate that a key character could be portrayed by Joe Manganiello, known for his roles in “Magic Mike” and “Justice League”.
Hearing whispers about Xolo Maridueña potentially playing Ace keeps me on edge, and now there’s talk swirling around that Joe Manganiello might be cast as Crocodile, the Sea King. If true, this would be an incredible match-up, but I can’t help but wonder if the evidence backing it up is solid?
Fans have been suggesting that Mickie Maggiorello might appear as Crocodile in One Piece Season 2, which we can watch with our Netflix subscription, based on certain hints they’ve noticed so far.
Joe Manganiello’s Hosting Gigs Have Fans Convinced He’s Playing Crocodile
Speculation that Joe Manganiello is joining the cast of “One Piece” has resurfaced following Netflix’s announcement for Geeked Week 2024. It seems likely that Netflix will reveal additional details about Season 2, and it’s intriguing to note that Manganiello was chosen to host this event, as suggested in the post below.
Another way of putting it: Working on Army of the Dead’s follow-up with Netflix doesn’t definitively prove that Manganiello is Crocodile in One Piece, but there are some unusual correlations. For instance, actors who collaborate with Netflix often participate in several projects, which lends credence to this theory.
Fans are also scouring Joe Manganiello’s Instagram for clues and pulling up photos that could be innocent at face value but also cryptic clues alluding to the role. For example, check out the second photo in his post about Deal or No Deal Island Season 2, where he can be seen holding a crocodile.

If I were shooting a movie on an island and someone handed me a baby crocodile for a photo opportunity, I’d happily participate, emphasizing it wasn’t a secret message about my career path. Yet, enthusiastic spectators can’t help but speculate that this could be a subtle hint towards a future role, which I might humorously allude to should a casting announcement ever occur. To clarify, these scenarios individually don’t provide solid evidence, but the overall sequence is intriguing.
It’s similar with another Instagram post where fans of “One Piece” wondered about Joe Manganiello showing up at a baseball game, as the team he attended seemed unusually fitting.

Is it possible that Joe Manganiello attended a Pittsburgh Pirates game not only for his love of baseball, but also secretly promoting a future role on “One Piece”? While it’s unlikely given his local ties to Pittsburgh, it’s not entirely impossible. After all, multiple events can occur simultaneously. However, considering his connection to the city and his history with the team, it seems more plausible that he was simply supporting his hometown baseball team.
Joe Manganiello Would Be The Perfect Casting For Crocodile
Given that this casting seems plausible, I can’t imagine a more fitting actor to portray Crocodile in “One Piece.” Should Joe Manganiello not return as Deathstroke, the role of Crocodile would offer comparable intensity, albeit with distinct skillsets. As one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Crocodile is a formidable character and a significant rival to Luffy in the ongoing “One Piece” storyline.
Crocodile is intimidating, strong, and looks damn good smoking a cigar. Manganiello checks all those boxes, plus he’s on the record as being pretty geeky. If he is playing Crocodile, I could see him taking it very seriously, and giving us a performance that is very faithful to the character. For that reason, I hope this rumor is true, even if some of the evidence supporting it is shaky.
Good news! The second season of “One Piece” is heading to Netflix soon, but the exact release date remains unknown. Keep an eye on TopMob for updates as we gather more information about this highly anticipated addition. In the meantime, let’s get excited for more thrilling escapades in the live-action adaptation!
