Beyoncé Confirms ‘Cowboy Carter’ and ‘Renaissance’ Will Not Get Visual Albums

As a seasoned gamer who’s seen it all, from pixelated beginnings to the latest graphical marvels, I must say that Beyoncé is a rare breed of artist. Her approach to her craft and career is nothing short of inspiring. Unlike most pop stars who seem to be in a perpetual race for attention, she takes her time, meticulously crafting her music and visuals, giving us fans the opportunity to truly immerse ourselves in her artistry.

Beyoncé fans won’t get to see Cowboy Carter and Renaissance music videos anytime soon.

In an uncommon conversation with GQ magazine, Beyoncé shared why she chose not to include visual elements in her recent albums. She felt it was crucial, given the abundance of visual content we’re exposed to currently, for people to concentrate on her voice instead. As she put it, “I wanted the world to focus on the sound during a period when all we experience is visuals.

Beyoncé stated that the music she creates carries a vast amount of history and complexity, requiring time to fully appreciate, study, and comprehend. She felt it necessary for the music to stand alone, free from any potential distractions. In her opinion, visuals could sometimes detract from the power of the voice and the music itself. After years of diligent work and intricate details poured into an album that took over four years to complete, she believed the music was sufficient on its own. The global fans became the visual representation of her artistry during tours. Additionally, her film provided more visuals for the audience.

In much the same way, the 32-time Grammy winner revealed that when launching her hair care line, Cécred, she chose not to represent the products herself. Instead, she wanted the line to speak for itself. “I wanted it to be recognized for its effectiveness on real people’s hair,” Beyoncé stated. “When it was first introduced, I made a deliberate choice not to feature in the advertisements. The brand needed to make an impact based on its own merit, rather than relying on my influence. I’ve been using these products for years, so I can personally vouch for their amazing qualities.

After a turbulent phase in her professional life, Beyoncé embarked on a global tour in 2023 for her album titled “Renaissance,” which she released the summer before. In the spring, she followed up with the second installment of her trilogy, named “Cowboy Carter.” Approximately a month before the release of “Cowboy Carter” in March, she introduced Cécred. Then, in August, Beyoncé partnered with Moët Hennessy and SirDavis to launch her own brand of whiskey, named after her moonshiner grandfather.

Nevertheless, it’s evident that Beyoncé continues to derive immense pleasure from her primary profession – singing – even amidst her hectic schedule. When probed about one thing she does exclusively for herself, apart from her work and family, Beyoncé disclosed that singing isn’t a chore for her. “I have a deep-seated passion for music and singing. There’s a certain magic in the sensation it gives me when I vocalize, a vibration that resonates within me. When I am at my lowest, when I’ve been down or engulfed in a dense fog, unwell or restless with sleepless nights, I sing. And often, I sing by myself,” she confessed.

The celebrity mentioned that their voice has consistently been a faithful companion, explaining why they’ve always managed to be content on their own. Music resonates deeply with their emotions when words elude them. It’s in those secluded spaces like the recording studio or the car where they find tranquility.
