Eminem's 'Curtain Call: The Hits' Is First Hip-Hop Album To Log 700 Weeks on Billboard 200

As a long-time fan who has witnessed the evolution of hip-hop, I can truly appreciate the historic achievement of Eminem. With his latest milestone on the Billboard 200 chart, the Detroit rapper has once again proven his unparalleled influence and staying power in the genre. It’s simply mind-blowing to see an artist like Em break yet another record, surpassing even the greats such as Creedence Clearwater Revival and Metallica.

Eminem breaks a fresh record on the Billboard 200 chart with his collection of top hits titled Curtain Call.

As a gamer, I’m stoked to share some trivia I stumbled upon about a legendary hip-hop album! The 2005 project is now officially the first rap album ever to be on the album chart for an astonishing 700 weeks, making it the sixth longest-charting album overall. Just this past week, from August 30 to September 5, “Curtain Call” ranked at No. 198, with a whopping 8,000 equivalent album units earned!

Prior to the release of “Curtain Call,” there are albums from Creedence Clearwater Revival, Metallica, Journey, Bob Marley, and Pink Floyd. The only hip-hop albums that have come close to Eminem’s 700-week record are Kendrick Lamar’s “good kid, m.A.A.d city” with 619 weeks and Drake’s “Take Care” with 601 weeks.

News came in not long after Eminem disclosed the expanded version of his recent album titled “The Death of Slim Shady“. This special edition, dubbed as the “Mourner’s Edition“, was officially revealed with a video featuring both Eminem and The Alchemist. A release date for September 13th has been confirmed.
