Weekend Wrapp - Monsters, Catgirls and heading back to the farm

Hey there! Welcome to this week’s Pocket Gamer Weekend Wrapp. I’m thrilled to share my gaming plans for the weekend with you all.

Hey there, welcome to our latest Pocket Gamer Weekend Wrapp.

Here’s your chance to peek into the gaming plans of our Pocket Gamer team members for this weekend! You’ll likely catch a glimpse of some unusual and entertaining activities we engage in when not delivering the latest news and advice. Who knows, you might even discover a fresh game to enjoy yourself!

In the Last Cloudia adventure from last week, things didn’t turn out as planned. I ended up spending a whole day and a half attempting to retrieve my old account information, only to discover that upon gaining access, I had completely forgotten everything about the game. Not only had I lost track of all the missions I was seemingly involved in halfway through, but even with the benefits for returning players, I couldn’t catch up. Oh well – this is the fate of those who abandon their journeys!

Since I haven’t learned anything new, I’ve chosen to resume my interrupted Ghost of Tsushima gameplay session, as Jin Sakai’s character in Amazon’s latest Secret Level series has piqued my interest. Time will tell if my tennis elbow will affect the controls when I dive back into it next week.

The third season of Monster Hunter has been released, bringing a plethora of fresh weapons and armor into the game. This expansion isn’t just about the introduction of the Heavy Bowgun, but also includes three brand new monsters: Aknosom, Magnamalo, and Rajang. Additionally, Nightshade Paolumu is back, which I’m glad to see as I didn’t encounter many of them in the previous version, and I require some of their components for my equipment.

I’m thrilled about the new armors, especially Rajang’s, they look amazing! But it’s a bit of a bummer for my mission in Monster Hunter Now. You see, my goal was to craft every weapon and armor available, and I wanted them all at white, green, or blue rarity levels. With three new monsters joining the fray, that means about fifteen new armors and around thirty new weapons to craft. So, you can bet I’ll be spending a significant chunk of this weekend immersed in MHN, including during Pokémon Go Community Day when I step outdoors.

Apart from playing mobile games, there are a couple of PC demos I’d like to delve deeper into: Holstin, Wilmot Works It Out, and Camper Van. As for what the weekend holds beyond that, we’ll simply have to wait and see where it leads us.

This week, instead of exploring the vast oceans, I’ll be treading on solid ground, or as we say, walking on firm land! In the real world, you might wonder why. The reason is that it’s a Community Day in Pokemon Go! These events are highly anticipated by players for various reasons. Some aim to catch a flawless version of the special Pokemon, while others strive to amass numerous Shinys. I fall into the latter category, but I only desire one – having many Shiny Litwick seems less unique if you have 60 of them floating around.

This coming Saturday, the focus of the Community Day event will be on the Pokemon, Ponyta, and there are two exciting aspects to this. Firstly, Ponyta is a highly-regarded Pokemon, with its fiery horse appearance making it an appealing choice for many trainers. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, there’s a chance to find not one but two Shinys during the event, as both regular and Galarian Ponyta will be appearing. Having double the chances of getting Shinys certainly adds to the fun! Unfortunately, I won’t be participating in this double prize hunt this week. I’ve already caught the cotton candy variant, so I’ll only be on the lookout for the blue flame Kantonian Ponyta. It seems that my catch escaped a few days early, but I’m not upset about it at all!

Over the past few days, I’ve been under the weather and unable to keep my phone steady, shedding tears here and there (crying emoji). I’m optimistic that by the weekend, I’ll find some time to resume my gaming activities. There were a couple of tasks related to a game close to my heart – Stardew Valley – which I can’t wait to revisit and unwind on the farm again.

Apart from joining the Cat Fantasy world myself recently, they’ve rolled out an exciting event where everyone gets a free SSR combatant. My objective is to boost her level and integrate her into my squad since I’ve been on the receiving end of bad luck with summoning. It’s a familiar tale for fans of gacha games! By the way, if you plan to jump in, I’ve put together a tier list for your perusal as well!

Although I often refer to myself as a dedicated “hardcore” gamer, I’ve been utterly captivated by the newly released match-3 game Monster Hunter Puzzles. As a longtime admirer of the Monster Hunter series, I must admit that this isn’t the typical gameplay style associated with the franchise. Yet, I find myself beaming at my phone whenever I see my Palico friends building their own island paradise.

On the stationary side, I’ve been wrapping up my journey through Persona 3 Reload, which I’ve been delaying for months due to preparing for the recently released DLC and the upcoming Atlus game, Metaphor: Re Fantazio, slated for release in about a month. This means another 200 hours or so of my life will likely be consumed by it.

At Pocket Gamer, it seems like everyone is getting hooked on Pokemon Go, including myself as I’m part of the team organizing events over the weekend in our town. Just like Stephen and Dann, I’ll be joining in the fun too! However, I’ve also taken a liking to Freshly Frosted, a game I’ve always wanted to play on my PC but never found the time for.
