Good Mother Gallery Moves to West Adams

As a seasoned gamer with a keen eye for art and a heart for community engagement, I must say that the move of Good Mother Gallery to West Adams has me thrilled! Ten years strong and still pushing boundaries, it’s a testament to their commitment to the arts. The upcoming exhibition, Rendezvous, promises an intriguing blend of order and chaos, intimacy, interaction, and unity – themes that resonate deeply with my own gaming experiences (and sometimes life)!

The Good Mother Art Gallery is relocating to West Adams. To celebrate the fresh location, the LA-based gallery will showcase a new collective exhibition tonight titled “Rendezvous“. Established a decade ago in Oakland by French-American artist Guillaume Ollivier, Good Mother has consistently supported an array of contemporary West Coast artists, specializing in painting, sculpture, and installation work.

The exhibition called Rendezvous showcases fresh and familiar pieces from forty artists who delve into subjects surrounding order and disorder, closeness, communication, and harmony. Among the various mediums, painting stands out significantly throughout the display, with Paul Reidmueller’s monochromatic still life paintings, Nancy Hollinghurst’s evocative musings on memory, and Jacob Rochester’s more abstract depiction of a basketball game.

In a spacious new setting, Good Mother’s gallery aims to create an inviting, community-oriented atmosphere that reinforces our dedication to diverse programming and public interaction, as stated by the gallery. The exhibition titled “Rendezvous” kicks off on September 14 from 5 to 7pm Pacific Time and will continue until October 12. Check out the list of participating artists below for more details.
