As a seasoned actor who has been gracing our screens since his childhood, Sanada is truly a gem of the industry. His humility and resilience are inspiring, as he navigates the whirlwind of Emmy nominations with grace and a hint of humor.

UTA

Party: UTA‘s Emmy celebration on Friday, Sept. 13

As a gamer, I’m honored to be among an extraordinary lineup of names like Dakota Fanning, Nicole Beharie, Jeff Schaffer, Derek Tsang, Jonathan Van Ness, Hiro Murai, Ron Nyswaner, Michael Schur, Tracee Ellis Ross, Adam Scott, Jessica Gunning, Courtney B. Vance, Aaron Paul, Cord Jefferson, Steve Levitan, Ke Huy Quan, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Jay Ellis, Bert Kreischer, William Jackson Harper, Sam Richardson, Alok Vaid-Menon, Emmanuel Acho, Antony Starr, Gaten Matarazzo, Will Gluck, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Vanessa Lachey, Heather McMahan, Julianne Hough, Tig Notaro, Timothy Olyphant, John Bradley, Adam Shankman, Steven Levitan, HBO’s Casey Bloys, Miramax’s Jonathan Glickman, and Warner Bros. Discovery’s David Zaslav. What a dream team!

Place: Sunset Tower

Enjoyed a meal from the Sunset Tower’s menu, accompanied by drinks generously provided by Johnnie Walker Blue Label and Peroni Nastro Azzuro.

From My Perspective: I found myself amidst the bustling crowd at some event, where David Zaslav was casually strolling around without a vest. Casey Bloys, a key figure here, was being surrounded by agents and producers, like bees to honey. The FX team, led by Nick Grad, seemed ecstatic as they basked in the accolades for their early Emmy wins. Other notable figures included Lisa Katz from NBC, Kent Alterman, ex-boss of Comedy Central, Max Greenfield, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Max Borenstein (the showrunner of Winning Time), and several others. Dimitri Dimitrov, fresh off his San Vicente Bungalows stint, was back in action as the majordomo at Tower Bar.

Performer Nominee Celebration

Party: Emmys Performer Nominee Celebration on Friday, Sept. 13

Participants: Dakota Fanning, Tig Notaro, Joely Fisher, Yuki Kedoin and Haruno Niiyama from Shogun, Liza Colón-Zayas from The Bear, Lisa Ann Walter, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Tyler James Williams, and William Stanford Davis from Abbott Elementary, Richard Gadd, Nava Mau, and Tom Goodman-Hill along with his wife Jessica Raine from Baby Reindeer, Mark Duplass and Katie Aselton from The Morning Show, Michael Cyril Creighton from Only Murders in the Building, Kali Reis from True Detective: Night Country, Devery Jacobs from Reservation Dogs, Elisabetta Canalis from Dancing with the Stars, and Abbey Romeo, David Isaacson, and Dani Bowman from Love on the Spectrum.

Place: The Wallis

Dishes on Offer: The vegan and non-vegan paellas, accompanied by a tangy lemon aioli, were undoubtedly popular choices among the guests. They even formed an orderly queue near the sushi station situated at the rear of the venue. Various bite-sized appetizers such as black cod lettuce wraps, steak and lobster tacos, tomato bruschetta, and meatballs were passed around. For dessert, there was a cookie station with an additional option of strawberry panna cotta and dark chocolate Belgium bites. A Johnnie Walker bar offered the spirit sponsor, which was also incorporated in the signature cocktail called the Hollywood highball. Wine sponsors Justin and Franciacorta were generously poured, while the bartenders ensured a smooth flow of service at the open bars.

At The Wallis’ outdoor party, the actors, who were more reserved on the red carpet, maintained their low-key demeanor. Emmy nominee Sheryl Lee Ralph had to encourage her colleagues to join her for a group photo and toast, initiated by Television Academy chairman Cris Abrego, particularly mentioning Tig Notaro and Liza Colón-Zayas. This was arguably the most noteworthy incident of an otherwise relaxed evening, where industry professionals mingled together amidst live jazz music, providing a laid-back atmosphere.

Although Shogun won numerous awards at the recent Creative Arts Emmys, none of its cast members graced the red carpet. However, actors Yuki Kedoin and Haruno Niiyama made an appearance around 8:30 p.m. The writer, creator, and star of Baby Reindeer, Richard Gadd, along with a companion, followed shortly thereafter. When asked if she had requested any specific love interests for the next season of Abbott Elementary, Lisa Ann Walter playfully inquired, “Who should I ask for, a Hemsworth?” – Brande Victorian

Gersh

Party: Gersh’s pre-Emmys celebration on Thursday, Sept. 12

The nominated Emmy recipients, Hiroyuki Sanada, D’Pharoah Woon-A-Tai, Aja Naomi King, Tyler James Williams, Stephanie Allynne (with Tig Notaro), Bellamie Blackstone, Hugh Wright and others, were congratulated by agents like Bob, David, Steven Gersh, Leslie Siebert, Nick Collins, Daisy Wu, Alex Yarosh. In addition, talent and celebrities such as Kaley Cuoco, Tom Pelphrey, Jensen Ackles, Josh Hutcherson, Ariana Madix, Haley Lu Richardson, Jon Voight, Archie Punjabi, Clark Gregg, Lisa Edelstein, Mekhi Phifer, Sara Gilbert, Stephen Root, Y’lan Noel, Meg Donnelly and Drake Rodger were also present at the scene.

Place: Juniper Lounge and Garden at 1 Hotel West Hollywood

Kudos to the party organizers for concocting unique cocktails tailored after Gersh client’s chosen projects. For instance, they served the Shogun Spritz (a blend of Ketel One vodka, cucumber, lemon, and Fever Tree club soda), Rez Dogs Daquiri (made with Ron Zacapa Rum, Jamaican #1 bitters, pineapple, and lime), The Scientific Method (a mix of Don Julio Blanco tequila, cucumber, lemon, and Fever Tree club soda), and an Elementary Old Fashioned (featuring Johnnie Walker Black Label whiskey, bitters, and sugar).

Exclusive Inside Scoop: Gersh, it’s great to see you back! The agency made a comeback at Emmy weekend parties after a seven-year hiatus (though who’s counting?), throwing an energetic and stylish bash on the Sunset Strip. David Gersh shared that the 1 Hotel took things up a notch by opening their entire terrace and courtyard below street level for an outdoor party for the first time, creating a unique ambiance. With numerous Emmy nominations this year, they wanted to celebrate their achievements. “We’re doing well, and we’re excited about what’s coming next,” David told THR. Shogun star Sanada was visibly thrilled about the upcoming events, surrounded by well-wishers ahead of a potentially golden Sunday. He expressed his anticipation for the cast reunion this weekend and his pride in their accomplishments. When asked how he would maintain his momentum over the next few days, Sanada suggested keeping it simple – “Maybe less drinks and just trying to enjoy myself naturally.” Sabrina Impacciatore from The White Lotus offered some words of wisdom, speaking from her extensive experience. She advised nominees not to focus on winning because their work has already been acknowledged at the highest level, which is a victory in itself. As she was about to leave for an early call time for The Office remake, she reminded everyone to stay grateful, echoing her advice. “We’re delving into new things, and the expectations are high, but I don’t want to think about that pressure,” she said, expressing daily gratitude for this opportunity.
