Richard Gadd Says He’s Jon Hamm’s “Biggest Fan” While Accepting Emmy for Best Actor in a Limited Series

As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours binge-watching TV shows and movies, I must say, this year’s Emmys have been nothing short of thrilling! Richard Gadd’s win for Baby Reindeer was well-deserved, and it’s always exciting to see underdog stories triumph.

At the 2024 Emmy Awards, Richard Gadd was honored with the prize for the best actor in a miniseries for his performance in the show titled “Baby Reindeer.

He faced stiff competition from Matt Bomer of “Fellow Travelers”, Jon Hamm from “Fargo”, Tom Hollander of “Feud: Capote vs. the Swans”, and Andrew Scott from “Ripley”.

The popular Netflix show scored 11 Emmy nominations in 2024, winning the category for Best Limited Series, along with Jessica Gunning’s award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series, recognition for exceptional writing within this genre, among other honors.

This year sees the 2024 Emmy Awards as the second event, as the 2023 ceremony has been postponed because of the consecutive writers’ and actors’ strikes that occurred last year.

This year’s most prominent TV awards show will feature a star-studded lineup of presenters such as Kristen Wiig, Viola Davis, Lily Gladstone, Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Matt Bomer, Colin Farrell, Mindy Kaling, Jimmy Kimmel, Greta Lee, John Leguizamo, George Lopez, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Jean Smart.

This year’s nominees were primarily dominated by FX’s “Shogun” (boasting 25 nominations), followed closely by “The Bear” (with 23 nominations, breaking the record for a comedy series), Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” (21 nominations), HBO/Max’s “True Detective: Night Country” (19 nominations), and Netflix’s “The Crown” (also with 18 nominations).

This year, Netflix took the lead with an impressive 107 Emmy nominations, trailed by FX with 93, HBO with 91, and Apple TV+ with 72. Interestingly, Disney, encompassing projects from FX, ABC, Hulu, and Disney+, set a new record for them with a total of 183 nominations.

This year’s Emmy Awards, jointly hosted by the pair Eugene and Dan Levy, will be airing live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles between 5-8 p.m. Pacific Time or 8-11 p.m. Pacific Time.
