Steph Curry Sets Documentary ‘Sentenced’ at Peacock

As a gamer with a soft spot for sports and a deep appreciation for documentaries that bring about change, I must say that Stephen Curry’s latest project, Sentenced, has certainly piqued my interest. The fact that it’s personal to him and his wife Ayesha makes it even more compelling.

NBA superstar Stephen Curry from the Golden State Warriors has launched a new project on NBCUniversal’s streaming platform, Peacock, which holds a special significance for him personally.

Curry and his wife Ayesha Curry are creating a new documentary titled “Sentenced” for a streaming platform, offering an intimate and exposing look at the widespread issue of childhood illiteracy through a collection of interwoven narratives based on real characters. Each narrative is captured from the perspective of someone who has never learned to read.

Through their Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation, the Currys have addressed literacy as a significant concern. This film aims to raise further understanding about this topic and how it influences children’s lives and families.

According to Stephen and Ayesha Curry, nothing is more fundamental or crucial to a child’s future success than their capacity to learn and develop a passion for reading. If this skill is lacking, it denies an individual the chance to realize their full potential, as shown in Sentenced. We appreciate the team of filmmakers and activists behind this movie who all aim to promote literacy and address the disparities and inequities in this area.

The documentary has been released and can now be found on the Peacock streaming platform. It was developed by Curry’s Unanimous Media, with Erick Peyton, president of Unanimous, serving in a producer role.

Peyton stated that ‘Sentenced’ is a compelling documentary we at Unanimous Media are honored to contribute to, guiding viewers through the poignant narratives of various individuals who were never taught to read. Our aspiration is that projects like ‘Sentenced’ will keep utilizing storytelling to create change and impact the system.

Currently, Chris Curry is appearing in the humorous television series titled “Mr. Throwback,” which airs on Peacock. This series is jointly produced by Unanimous. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter recently, Curry expressed his desire to broaden his presence within the entertainment industry, not only by creating new projects under Unanimous, but also by increasing his screen time.

For quite a while now, my wife has been an actress. Last year, she starred in a movie with Lindsay Lohan called ‘Irish Wish’ on Netflix. She has been urging me to embark on this journey, and once I retire from basketball, I hope there will be more chances for me to explore acting opportunities in front of the camera.

Peyton mentioned that Unanimous is currently developing several projects, such as documents, a golf-related idea, and alternative broadcast plans for live sports.
