As a seasoned gamer who has been through countless hours of virtual lives, I must say that witnessing Penélope Cruz’s transition from the silver screen to the music video realm is nothing short of mesmerizing! It’s like leveling up from a casual player to an epic boss in one swift move.

Penélope Cruz is an official Latin Grammy nominee.

The actress who won an Oscar received a nomination for the category of Best Short Form Music Video for “313” by Residente, where she initially recites a poetic monologue. Notably, she is also featured in the music video itself.

The track was additionally nominated for “Song of the Year,” a recognition that is given to the songwriters, such as Residente, Silvia Pérez Cruz (the featured artist), and Leo Genovese.

50-year-old Cruz clinched the Best Supporting Actress Oscar at the 2009 ceremony for “Vicky Cristina Barcelona”. In 2018, she was recognized with a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie at the Emmys, thanks to her portrayal of Donatella Versace in “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story”.

2024 Latin Grammy nominations see songwriter-producer Édgar Barrera at the helm for a second consecutive year, with a total of nine nominations. Among these are three nods in the category of Song of the Year. Karol G and Bad Bunny trail closely behind with eight nominations apiece.

This year’s Latin Grammys, marking its 25th anniversary, will be broadcast live on November 14th from the Kaseya Center in Miami. The three-hour event will simulcast live on Univision, Galavisión, and ViX. Voting for the final nominees commences on September 27th.
