Reflecting on her beauty pageant past, she penned, “I’ll always remember that 18-year-old version of myself – eager, anxious, and competitive, striving to present my best self. A moment from November 30th, 2000, that remains etched in my memory is the sensation of teetering on heels as thin as pencils while wearing a Hemant Trivedi gown that seemed determined to slip off throughout the night because the body tape wouldn’t stick due to my excessive perspiration from nerves. If you search for pictures taken after I won, it appears as though I’m gracefully expressing gratitude in a namaste pose, but in reality, I was frantically trying to keep my dress in place. Remarkably, I made it through and everything turned out fine in the end.
She continued her post by stating that being back at the same place and watching her husband and his brothers perform with her daughter, family, and friends is such a full circle.
