‘Saturday Night Live’: Jean Smart, Ariana Grande Among Early Season 50 Hosts

As a seasoned gamer who’s seen more than a few episodes of Saturday Night Live throughout the years, I must say that this lineup for SNL’s 50th season is nothing short of phenomenal! With a mix of established comedians and fresh faces, it’s like they’ve crafted an epic quest filled with laughter and entertainment.

Saturday Night Live kicks off its milestone 50th season on NBC by airing four live episodes in a row. The first of these will star an Emmy Award recipient, and multiple returning hosts are also included in the lineup.

Jean Smart, lead actor in the series “Hacks”, will kick off the new season on September 28, featuring Jelly Roll as the musical guest for the premiere. This will be their first appearances on the show. On October 5, comedian Nate Bargatze returns as host for the second time, with Coldplay serving as the musical guest that night. Both events mark their respective debuts on the program.

Ariana Grande and Stevie Nicks are set to appear on October 12th, followed by Michael Keaton and Billie Eilish on October 19th. After a week’s hiatus, John Mulaney will host the show on November 2nd with musical guest Chappell Roan. Ariana Grande will return as host for her second time, while Michael Keaton will make his fourth appearance and John Mulaney his sixth.

Besides its usual Saturday broadcasts, which take place at 11:30 PM Eastern Time and 8:30 PM Pacific Time on NBC every week, Saturday Night Live (SNL) will commemorate its 50th year on television with a primetime special in February 2025.

For the upcoming Season 50, three fresh faces – Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim, and Jane Wickline – will be added to the cast alongside returning members. Previously featured players Marcello Hernandez, Michael Longfellow, and Devon Walker have been promoted to the main cast, while Punkie Johnson, Molly Kearney, and Chloe Troast decided to part ways between seasons.

Season 50’s roster of hosts and musical guests is below. This story will be updated when additional announcements happen.
