In 2022, COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS reintroduced the Nike Air Max Sunder from 1999, creating three minimalist versions of the shoe. This year, Nike chose to bring the sneaker back as well, offering it through regular releases in honor of the shoe’s 25th anniversary. Following some initial previews, Nike unveiled GORE-TEX editions during its SNKRS Showcase livestream.

Now, official imagery of two of the Air Max Sunder GORE-TEX colorways has surfaced. The “Black” look sees the zipper-equipped sneaker presented in an all-black finish that emphasizes its unique build. As for the “Hyper Crimson” rendition, its bright red hue combines with black detailing for an eye-catching color combination. Both pairs sport a water-repellent ripstop at the upper while the inner lacing system has been removed to convert it into a true slip-on shoe.

Currently, Nike hasn’t announced a specific launch date for the “Black” or “Hyper Crimson” editions of the Air Max Sunder GORE-TEX. However, given its appearance at this year’s SNKRS Showcase, it’s likely to be released in early 2025 on Nike SNKRS and selected retailers.
