As a dedicated follower of their journey, I find it truly heartwarming to witness the evolution and growth of Shibani Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar’s relationship, culminating in their recent marriage. Their journey, marked by openness, understanding, and mutual respect, is a testament to their commitment to each other and their families.

2022 saw Shibani Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar become a popular topic online after they tied the knot following three years of dating. Despite their current happiness, the early days of marriage weren’t always smooth sailing. In fact, just a few days after their wedding, they sought therapy. However, things improved over time, and Shibani found herself comfortably integrated into the Akhtar family. During an interview, she praised Farhan’s ex-wife, Adhuna Bhabani, for raising open-minded daughters Shakya and Akira.

In my conversation with Rhea Chakraborty on her podcast Chapter 2, Shibani Akhtar expressed that the Akhtar clan is exceptionally advanced and liberal in their mindset. She explained that this unique perspective and methodology made her feel like she wasn’t an outsider among them. When discussing Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna Bhabani’s daughters, Shakya and Akira, she noted how thoughtful they are, having a deep understanding of the family dynamics that makes our shared journey smoother. She even referred to them as an ‘extended blended family’, mentioning that in difficult times, we often find ourselves working together to navigate through challenges.

The actress expressed gratitude for being a part of such an esteemed family and praised Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna for raising their daughters to be ‘open-minded, empathetic, and compassionate’. In her conversation, she acknowledged that this is largely due to the parents’ influence, stating, “They have done an exceptional job in shaping them into open-minded, understanding, kind individuals. These aren’t typical teenagers you’d find; instead, I am learning a great deal from them.

In the same interview, the actress from Made in Heaven disclosed details about her relationship with The Sky Is Pink actor. She reminisced about their past, mentioning that they first met and signed up for sessions on a Monday, with their next scheduled meeting set for Wednesday. “I recall entering the room, and our therapist asked, ‘Why are you here? You’ve only just been married for about 24 hours!'” she shared, further explaining that there were instances where they found themselves at a loss for words during therapy sessions. However, she acknowledged that couple therapy significantly helped them manage disagreements in their relationship.
