Io.net and Phala Network partner to improve decentralized AI

Under the terms of this fresh arrangement, Phala Network plans to boost its AI functionalities by leveraging io.net’s GPU-based cloud system. This move will make complex computations more attainable for them.

IO.net (IO), a GPU cloud network, has teamed up with Phala Network to enhance their secure computation and decentralized artificial intelligence abilities, as stated in a press release sent to crypto.news.

Using the cloud service offered by io.net’s IO Cloud, users can gain instant access to powerful GPUs on a pay-per-use basis. This setup significantly cuts costs compared to conventional cloud services by as much as 90%. Machine learning professionals and developers can now harness the computational muscle required for training and deploying AI models without having to make large hardware investments.

Partnering with io.net will enable Phala Network to utilize their IO Cloud’s robust GPU infrastructure, thereby extending the scope of Phala’s decentralized artificial intelligence environment.

Through this partnership, Phala gains the capacity to smoothly execute sophisticated AI applications with enhanced security, utilizing Nvidia’s high-end H100 and H200 GPUs. Essentially, this teamwork will simplify and reduce costs for developers when handling complex AI projects, all while maintaining robust data protection.

Phala Network intends to leverage the GPU capabilities provided by io.net for the operation of its CPU nodes within the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE). Essentially, these TEEs are specialized areas in a computer’s hardware that are specifically designed to manage confidential information securely.

AI workloads 

As stated in a recent announcement, Phala was the pioneer in establishing a benchmark for Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) equipped with Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) in August. With the help of io.net’s network, Phala guarantees that AI tasks are carried out securely using Nvidia’s confidential computing functionalities, including encrypted memory and secure boot.

Phala Network is recognized for providing a decentralized platform, ideal for developers, where they can carry out intricate tasks that typically fall outside the scope of conventional blockchain networks, all while preserving privacy. This platform’s robust infrastructure, consisting of over 40,000 TEE CPU nodes, empowers Web3 applications to manage computationally demanding tasks without compromising data privacy.

Io.net and Phala Network are going to explore and compare performance, commencing with Nvidia’s H100 and H200 GPUs in research and benchmarking activities.

The statement indicates they aim to merge Phala’s AI technology (agents and hardware) with the IO Network, thereby strengthening their capabilities for secure and distributed AI functions as per the announcement. This integration may pave the way for a broader range of user-friendly and efficient AI-powered Web3 applications.
