MSNBC Picks Up Celebrity-Stacked Docuseries ‘My Generation’ (Exclusive)

As a Gen Z gamer, growing up with the Internet and social media at my fingertips, I’ve always been fascinated by how different generations have experienced life before and after such technological advancements. That’s why I’m eagerly awaiting MSNBC‘s new documentary series, “My Generation”.

MSNBC is commissioning a fresh documentary series, inviting several high-profile individuals to both tell the story and actively take part in it.

The four-part documentary series titled “My Generation,” produced by NBC News Studios and MSNBC Films, delves into the experiences of the primary generations among Americans: Baby Boomers (those born between 1946 and 1964), Generation X (born between 1965 and 1981), Millennials (born between 1982 and 1997) and Gen Z (born after 1997). It uses interviews and historical footage to examine each group’s unique perspectives.

Each episode will star well-known personalities, hailing from the respective era, as narrators to guide viewers through their stories.

Forest Whitaker will narrate the segment on the Baby Boomer generation. This part delves into individuals who matured under the influence of significant historical events such as the Cuban Missile Crisis, as well as the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., and Robert F. Kennedy.

In this upcoming episode, the story of Generation X will be told by Ethan Hawke. We’ll also hear from skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, actress Alyssa Milano, and filmmaker Richard Linklater in interviews.

Kristen Bell is set to voice the Millennials segment, a group often labeled as the self-entitled and overly pampered generation who lived their formative years before the widespread use of the Internet, according to MSNBC. This installment will feature LeAnn Rimes, Jimmy O. Yang, Representative Ilhan Omar, and Hayley Williams.

As a member of Gen Z, I’ll be diving into our world, guided by the storytelling skills of Jenna Ortega. We’ll hear from fellow gamers like David Hogg, as well as activists such as Olivia Juliana and Deja Foxx, who are making waves in our community. Stay tuned!

The premiere of our series focusing on the Baby Boomers is set for this coming Saturday, October 5th, at 8 p.m. Subsequently, the following three episodes will air in the same timeframe during the subsequent weeks.

According to executive producer David Rivera, every generation is distinctive and influenced by the significant happenings and popular culture that marked their early years. However, “My Generation” isn’t just a sentimental journey down memory lane; it offers insights into various generations and their perceptions of yours. They didn’t shy away from sharing their honest opinions – good, bad, or ugly – as our diverse panel of renowned and outspoken interviewees candidly expressed their thoughts!
