As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for dark, gripping narratives, I can hardly contain my excitement for Nicole Kidman‘s latest venture, ‘Babygirl’. Having binge-watched her stellar performance in The Perfect Couple (a Netflix must-see), I find myself eagerly anticipating this A24 thriller.
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but admire Nicole Kidman’s tireless work ethic in the entertainment world. From filming movies to TV projects, and even producing successful projects, she never ceases to amaze me. Even as we’re still recovering from her captivating performance in “The Perfect Couple” (available with a Netflix subscription), we’ve been given a sneak peek at a new thriller from A24 – “Babygirl”. The trailer showcases Kidman in a raw, intense role reminiscent of “Fifty Shades of Grey”, and I must say, I’m absolutely hooked!
Lately, Nicole Kidman starred in a film titled “A Family Affair” featuring an age-gap romance with Zac Efron. In contrast, the upcoming movie, “Babygirl,” appears to be much more intense and mysterious. While details about “Babygirl” are scarce, the trailer suggests that Kidman’s character, Romy, will engage in a complex relationship with a young employee who challenges their power dynamic by assuming a dominant/submissive role. It’s clear that the movie won’t offer a cheerful conclusion.
In this trailer for “Babygirl,” we first see the protagonist, Romy, strolling through town and narrowly escaping a menacing canine attack. Just in the nick of time, a captivating young man named Samuel (Harris Dickinson from “The Iron Claw”) appears, intervening to save her. Later, he starts working as an intern at the company where Romy serves as CEO, and sparks fly between them instantly. Samuel’s quick wit is evident when he playfully suggests that he could train her like a dog – quite the jolt for Romy!
