Someone Asked Selena Gomez What It's Like To Be A Billionaire And She Was Not Having It: 'I Personally Think It's Distasteful.'

As a longtime fan who has followed Selena Gomez‘s journey from Disney star to global sensation, I must say her recent billionaire status is nothing short of inspiring. Unlike many others who might flaunt their wealth, Selena remains humble and focuses on gratitude towards those who made it all possible – the people who purchased her Rare Beauty products.

Approximately 3,000 individuals worldwide are considered billionaires, as per different calculations by those who monitor such wealth. However, that number has recently grown with the news that singer and actress Selena Gomez, thanks to her incredibly successful cosmetics company, has now joined their ranks. Despite this remarkable accomplishment, she prefers not to discuss it publicly.

In a TikTok video, ET questioned the star of “Only Murders in the Building” about her recent billionaire status. Rather than boasting about her newfound wealth, she finds it unpleasant to talk about money and instead expresses gratitude towards those who contributed to her achieving this position, specifically the individuals who bought her Rare Beauty products. Gomez stated…

I’m deeply appreciative. Frankly, discussing money matters isn’t my favorite topic. However, I wholeheartedly acknowledge and thank those who purchase our products for their significant role in our success.

Regardless of whether someone is financially well-off or not, many people find it uncomfortable to discuss money. It’s unusual for Gomez, given her amassed wealth, to express a lack of desire for anything else in life, but discussing this could feel awkward.

Selena Gomez, much like Kylie Jenner, isn’t seeing significant increases in her bank balance due to her wealth primarily being invested in her cosmetics brand, Rare Beauty. If she were to sell this business, she would receive a billion dollars, but for now, it remains a valuable asset under her ownership.

Expressing gratitude towards those who purchase her products is indeed fitting. After all, they are the ones who give value to her cosmetics line, whether analysts see it as worthwhile or not. Gomez appears overjoyed by the success of her business endeavor, and it seems hard to believe that she ever doubted it would reach this level of success.

Indeed, aside from his other professional endeavors, Gomez is experiencing significant success too. The fourth season of Only Murders in the Building hasn’t been released yet, but it has already been renewed for a fifth season. This places it among the more successful streaming scripted series, given that many streaming shows typically don’t continue beyond a couple of seasons.

Apart from starring in it, Gomez is also taking on the role of an executive producer for the upcoming Disney series titled “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place“. This new project serves as a sequel to the Disney Channel show that significantly boosted her fame. Despite the long-lasting “Disney Kid” label she’s carried for years, she is now set to rejoin Disney in an entirely distinct capacity.

It’s an interesting parallel. Alongside Selena Gomez becoming a billionaire, her Only Murders in the Building character was advised by Eva Longoria, who is playing Gomez’s character in the movie within the series, to sell her life rights for a lot of money and build something with them. Perhaps Mabel will start a cosmetics line too. Apparently, they can make you a lot of money.
