As a golf enthusiast with a keen eye for fashion and brand development, I can’t help but be thrilled about the latest move by Malbon Golf. With Aaron Heiser, a seasoned veteran from the fashion industry, stepping into the role of CEO, this brand is poised to make some serious waves in the golf world. His extensive experience at Nike, Armani Exchange, Tommy Hilfiger, and Gap Inc., coupled with Erica Malbon’s entrepreneurial spirit from the beauty industry, makes for an unstoppable force in the fashion-forward golf apparel scene.
Following a year filled with achievements marked by partnerships with top golf pros like Jason Day and Charley Hull, and collaborations with brands such as Jimmy Choo and Lexus, Malbon Golf has revealed another significant milestone in its journey. The brand has appointed Aaron Heiser, a seasoned executive from Nike with extensive fashion industry knowledge, as its inaugural CEO. Heiser will work closely with the founders of the company, Stephen and Erica Malbon, who will continue to hold their roles as co-chief creative officers and board members for Malbon Golf.
Erica Malbon, who has a background in the beauty sector, shared with WWD that “We spent a full year interviewing before choosing Aaron. Steven and I founded the brand in 2017 with plenty of enthusiasm, but limited knowledge about fashion and clothing.” Approximately one year ago, Malbon debuted its first line of women’s apparel, and Heiser will focus on expanding the brand to cater to various demographics while growing the business sustainably for long-term success.
In his own words, Heiser stated that “Malbon has morphed into a worldwide community that unites various cultures, values individuality, and promotes camaraderie – not just on the golf course, but off it as well. To describe it as ‘burning brightly’ as a brand would be an understatement; I eagerly anticipate collaborating with the whole team to further fuel this energy and usher in the next stage of expansion and progress.” This fashion industry leader has spent over 18 years at Nike, where he held key roles such as global vice president for apparel, accessories, and licensing. Prior to that, he worked for Armani Exchange, Tommy Hilfiger, and Gap Inc.
It’s intriguing to find out if there will be any fresh hires or collaborations disclosed during Q4 this year, similar to what happened in the previous year with Malbon.
