ATEEZ’s Seonghwa on His Paris Fashion Week Debut and Why It Reminded Him That “8 Makes 1 Team”

As a dedicated ATEEZ fan, I can hardly contain my excitement as I witness Seonghwa’s fashion week debut at Paris Fashion Week! The eldest member of this dynamic K-pop group has always been a style icon for me, and seeing him grace the runway for Isabel Marant is simply a dream come true.

At this week’s Paris Fashion Week, Seonghwa, the senior member of the K-pop boy band ATEEZ, made quite an impression. The 26-year-old vocalist graced Isabel Marant’s Spring Summer 2025 show, which was his first time attending a fashion week event.

The renowned K-pop artist conversed via email with “The Hollywood Reporter” amidst their travels from Paris to Seoul and then to Jakarta. Tomorrow, the highly anticipated group is scheduled to take the stage at the City Camp Indonesia music festival.

Seonghwa expresses that PFW (Paris Fashion Week) was an incredibly joyful period for him, and he interacted with fellow ATEEZ bandmates prior to leaving. He shared that Hongjoong, San, and Wooyoung participated in fashion shows earlier in the week and expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards ATINY (the official name of ATEEZ fans). They also hinted at thinking frequently about the other group members during their time away.

Seonghwa echoed my sentiments exactly, further emphasizing that we truly embody the spirit of ‘Unity Makes Eight,’ our group’s motto.

As a gamer, I’m here to share some insights from my recent fashion adventure at Fashion Week! Being an ATEEZ member, we each have our unique styles that we love to express. I, Seonghwa, shared about mine and how this event was an incredible experience for us all. We draw inspiration from one another when it comes to style, constantly pushing boundaries and creating something fresh and exciting. It’s amazing to see how we influence each other in this way!

How would you describe your personal style? What story are you trying to tell?

I believe that anyone, regardless of age or gender, should be able to wear the clothes that they want. I find such joy in being able to express myself through clothes and fashion. As an artist, I’m able to embody and portray so many aspects of myself through our music, facial expressions in performances, and dance, but with fashion, I can express and showcase another completely different side of myself that fully embraces and captures my personal story.

Is there someone you look up in the world of fashion or style?

Among the multitude of talented individuals gracing the realm of fashion, my creative inspiration has been significantly shaped by the remarkable trio: Kim Bekker, Isabel Marant, and Anthony Vaccarello.

To sum it all up, what did you think about your very first fashion week experience? Did you find yourself feeling anxious or thrilled? Or perhaps both? Did the event meet or even surpass your expectations?

As I geared up for fashion week, my mind swirled with anticipation and exhilaration, yet it was an incredibly joyful period. Everything seemed to fall into place during my preparations, leaving me fully engrossed on the day of the show. Truly, it was a remarkable experience.

Have you consulted any of your past ATEEZ colleagues who attended fashion weeks before, seeking their insights or perhaps receiving some guidance from them regarding the experience?

Earlier this week, Hongjoong, San, and Wooyoung attended some fashion shows and expressed their heartfelt appreciation for ATINY, ATEEZ’s dedicated fanbase. They also shared that they often thought about their fellow band members during these events. This sentiment resonated with me deeply, reinforcing the truth that “We are One Team of Eight” – a testament to their strong bond as a group.

Do you find that you and the rest of ATEEZ inspire one another’s style?

Our interactions often spark creativity in each other, and it’s due to the deep appreciation and regard we hold for one another. Each individual brings a unique personality and flair, which creates a rich tapestry. It’s this awareness of each other that empowers us to fully explore our own distinct styles.

Your look for the Isabel Marant show was great! How did you feel wearing the clothes? Did you have a favorite part of the ensemble?

In conventional wisdom, folks assumed I’d opt for men’s attire, but a remark from fashion designer Isabel Marant sparked my interest – she shared her preference for women’s clothing. Identifying with her sentiments, I chose to embrace the unexpected and dared to experiment. The high heels particularly caught my eye, and I adored the complete outfit that seemed tailor-made for me. This experience ignited a curiosity within me about the narrative that would unfold in the Spring Summer 2025 collection.

It appeared that you expressed how attending Paris Fashion Week was like fulfilling a long-held dream of yours. Can you share what’s coming up next for you in the world of fashion? Is there perhaps another fashion aspiration or aim you are striving towards at this moment?

I’m really excited about the prospect of participating in more fashion events and partnering with brands to spread positivity beyond just my music. Through these collaborations, I hope to extend my influence into the realm of fashion as well. This opportunity, presented by this show, gives me another chance to express my gratitude towards our fans, ATINY.
