As a long-time admirer and follower of Shah Rukh Khan’s illustrious career, I have been captivated by his unique charm and dedication throughout the years. Having closely followed his journey with celebrated photographer Dabboo Ratnani, I can attest to SRK’s exceptional professionalism and unwavering commitment to his craft.
Shah Rukh Khan is more than just a director’s actor; he’s also a model that photographers adore, as confirmed by celebrity snapper Dabboo Ratnani. In discussions about their collaborative work, Dabboo recounted how SRK, even in his beginnings, would solicit his advice on posing skills. He nostalgically recalled an instance where King Khan fearlessly ventured into a lake for a photoshoot at Dabboo’s behest—demonstrating both his professionalism and commitment to the craft.
During an interview on Vishal Malhotra’s YouTube channel, Dabboo Ratnani mentioned that actor Hrithik Roshan (referred to as Jawan) exhibits a genuine humility and sincerity during their photo shoots. He further added that Shahrukh Khan (King Khan), in fact, shows a keen interest in grasping the creative vision of both directors and photographers, and works diligently to embody this vision in his performances.
He recalled, “During one shoot, I decided to change our pre-planned setup and directed the cameras and lighting toward the lake. I asked him to walk into the lake so I could capture him coming out from it. Without questioning me even once, he took off his shoes and socks, wore his slippers, and just walked in. No natak, no nothing—he completely understood the vibe of the shoot.”
Back at Film City, Ratnani fondly recalled his initial photoshoot with the young actor who would later become Pathaan. It was a time when this actor was just starting out in the film industry. Ratnani shared an interesting story about how unsure Shah Rukh was about posing for photos and sought Dabboo’s advice. At first, Dabboo assumed it was a joke, but when Shah Rukh persisted, he understood that the actor meant it sincerely.
Even though Shah Rukh had previously starred in several films, he diligently imitated every pose shown by Dabbo. Yet, when queried about the origin of Shah Rukh’s iconic pose, Dabbo made it clear that he was not responsible for its creation.
In terms of professional endeavors, Shah Rukh Khan is set to appear in a forthcoming film titled “The King,” directed by Sujoy Ghosh. Notably, his daughter, Suhana Khan, will hold a significant part in this production as well.
In the upcoming high-speed action-packed drama, both Abhishek Bachchan and Abhay Verma will be featured as well. As per recent news from Bollywood Hungama, it’s been announced that the lead actors are preparing to commence filming in January 2025.
