As someone who’s been a lifelong Marvel fan and has seen more than a few superhero shows and movies, I can confidently say that “Agatha All Along” is one of the most intriguing and engaging series I’ve ever watched. The way it blends the magical world with the human drama is just brilliant!
Spoilers below for anyone who hasn’t yet caught up with Agatha All Along, so be warned!
It’s challenging to imagine any forthcoming Marvel TV series generating the same level of fan theory-making as “Agatha All Along”. The viewer reactions are reminiscent of the intense speculation fueled by the storyline of “WandaVision”, and even after just four episodes, it seems like almost every possible scenario or explanation has been discussed – though that might be a bit of an exaggeration. Still, new questions continue to emerge. The same can be said for the LGBTQ+-themed musical chaos in Episode 4.

Specifically, Lorna’s rendition of the Ballad was a delightful, top-notch spectacle, complemented by impressive costumes and stage design. However, what truly startled viewers in this episode was Teen’s near-death experience when he got impaled with a large piece of glass. Remarkably, he managed to pull through, only to continue his secretive existence later on. The show didn’t delve too deeply into the reasons behind Teen’s injury, instead choosing to emphasize Jen’s apparent power resurgence.
I’ve got some reservations about trusting Jen’s potions once more, but I’m certain that Rio had a definite plan to exclude Teen from the picture, and she wasn’t very subtle about it. Shall we talk about this?
Rio Very Clearly Stated Her Intention To Start Dropping Bodies
In many stories, an item or situation introduced early on is likely to play a significant role later on, building tension. Show ‘Rio’ from the series ‘Psychobitches’ pushed this idea to its limits, as Aubrey Plaza’s character openly declared in the initial part of the episode that she desires Agatha to eliminate the other witches so she could amass “bodies,” making it clear for everyone.
As a fan, I can’t help but notice the intriguing hints in this storyline. Even if you haven’t stumbled upon Rio’s secret identity due to Funko Pop! Figure leaks, her casual remark about her goals felt suspiciously revealing. Whether Agatha subtly guided her into admitting it or not, it aligns with Rio’s aspirations during this journey on the Witches’ Road. It’s quite peculiar that one of the characters sustained a near-fatal injury just minutes after Rio made that statement, don’t you think?
Teen’s Injury Inside The Recording Studio Didn’t Seem Curse-Related

Regardless, the curse affects negatively those witches in the house not shielded by the Ballad’s enchantment. They seem to endure searing agony, both physically and emotionally, until Alice neutralizes the peril with her abilities. This seems to be the case for the long-standing female witches.
Instead of experiencing being set ablaze, the Teen is violently hurled across the room and out a window, eventually impaling himself. Yet this incident raises questions about the Fire Trial, given that the show’s LGBTQ+ aspects lead me to doubt if the curse would discriminate between men and women in its effects. Therefore, I speculate that the curse had no regard for Teen’s witchcraft abilities whatsoever.
As a gamer, I found myself in a peculiar situation where Rio seized the moment amidst the turmoil of the witches to grab one of their bodies. I thought Teen was the least vital among them. At that time, Agatha hadn’t shown her true feelings towards the lad yet, but later on, it became clear that she was starting to feel maternal instincts again, as Rio discovered her reappearing purple aura.
I’m Not Convinced Jen’s Powers Suddenly Came Back Just To Fix Teen
Despite being puzzled about Teen managing to perform the Ballad with shards of glass in him, it could be attributed to adrenaline and TV trickery. However, I must admit I have my doubts about who truly healed his injuries. Given the events portrayed in the episode, it seems reasonable to assume that Jen’s potion was responsible. In other words, the most straightforward explanation, following Occam’s Razor, appears to be the one we were led to believe.
However, Agatha’s earnest pleading to Rio and the apparent extent of Rio’s abilities going beyond simple witchcraft made me suspect that it was Agatha who had healed Teen’s wounds, while Jen’s potion-making process might have been nothing more than an illusion. I don’t mean to undermine Jen’s possibility of regaining her skills after the initial trial, but given her mistake with the potion in Episode 3 that resulted in Sharon’s death, I’m not quite ready to assume she’s fully recovered yet.
In a different scenario, if this were the initial instance of someone’s wound healing swiftly and without leaving any scars, it might be more astonishing. However, we’ve already seen a comparable event in the series premiere – Rio healing Agatha’s cut hand with his tongue, complete with blood. Moreover, the healing process in this case seems to resemble that one.
I’ve a working theory that Rio was also present during Agatha’s prevous walk down the Witches’ Road, and that’s why her prior coven seemed to have issues with keeping everyone alive as well. Of course, Agatha holding a single finger up when asked may be entirely unrelated to Rio, but the episode seemed to make a point of having both characters address their shared pasts without letting others know it was shared.
As a gamer delving deeper into the world of Agatha and her son Nicholas Scratch, I can’t help but wonder about their intricate connection to Agatha’s sacrifice. The enigma surrounding Mephisto only adds fuel to the fire. Hopefully, an upcoming episode will shed some light on this mystery, and maybe bring Emma Caulfield’s Dottie back into play as well. For now, I’ll keep exploring and piecing together theories, but that’s a story for another day.
