Hiroshi Fujiwara and Yoshiki Release Debut EP ‘Bluebyrds’

As a gamer with a deep appreciation for the fusion of art forms and a soft spot for electronic music, I can hardly contain my excitement over the latest collaboration between Hiroshi Fujiwara and Yoshiki, forming the Bluebyrds. With a rich history in both fashion and music, these two pioneers have been instrumental in shaping the landscapes of streetwear and hip-hop.

At the post-event gathering for Maison Yoshiki Paris during Paris Fashion Week, the brand led by Japanese artist and designer Yoshiki, often referred to as the “godfather of streetwear” and founder of fragment design Hiroshi Fujiwara, unexpectedly showed up. The two revealed they had banded together to create a new musical group called Bluebyrds.

That same night, the initial song titled “Nothing” from the project was made available. A week after that, their self-titled debut EP called “Bluebyrds” was dropped, combining electronic music with rhythmic, atmospheric tones.

This project signifies a comeback for Fujiwara, who initially made his mark in the Japanese music scene as one of the country’s pioneer hip-hop DJs during the 1980s. Today, he still graces stages and works alongside various musical artists.

A while back, Fujiwara bumped into Yoshiki in Paris and discussed resuming their music partnership. Since then, they’ve been frequently working together in the studio, producing exclusive recordings. Our aim now is to unveil our distinctive universe to everyone and keep refining it further.

Yoshiki expressed his pleasure at collaborating with Hiroshi Fujiwara, a prominent figure in international fashion circles. He’s looking forward to what the future holds for this collaboration.
