As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for Hollywood-style success stories, I must say that Kareena Kapoor Khan’s journey in Bollywood is nothing short of inspiring. Her unwavering determination to make her mark in an industry often dominated by men is truly commendable.
Despite the widespread perception that Bollywood is a field dominated by men where actresses’ careers tend to be shorter, Kareena Kapoor Khan admits that at 17, she aspired to star in every film. The actress, known as Crew, acknowledges that maintaining a career can be daunting unless she continually reinvent herself. Kareena, also called Bebo, believes that every five years she should question what new she can contribute and seeks out diverse roles to make her mark somewhere.
In a conversation with Times of India, Bebo expressed, “At 17 or 18, I was focused on being in as many films as possible. However, if you manage to last for a decade, it’s about reinventing oneself – a daunting task in an industry predominantly ruled by men. Over the years, not just me, but other courageous actresses have made significant advancements. Every five years, I ponder, what fresh opportunities can I seize now?
She expressed that it’s not merely about being in successful films but about leaving behind a legacy. Coming from the Kapoor family, where she has been challenged by the incredible talent of her relatives, she wants to make her own mark. She noted that every decade brings new talent, raising the question of how she can sustain her career.
In my pursuit, I find it essential to diversify my entertainment picks, drawing inspiration from a mix of films such as Buckingham Murders, Singham, Crew, and Jaane Jaan. Remarkably, I firmly believe that if Jaane Jaan had been released in theaters, it would have garnered similar success.
In a past interview, Khan stressed that, after spending decades in the acting world and portraying diverse characters, it’s crucial for actors to take risks and delve into numerous film genres. Failing to do so could limit them to a particular role type, and he emphasized that embracing different characters can prolong an actor’s career.
Looking back on playing the character in Chameli at 22 years old, she admitted that people questioned her capability for the role. However, the movie proved to be successful nonetheless. Bebo pointed out that if she had taken every part that matched that stereotype, she wouldn’t be attending a film festival today.
In terms of his professional life, Khan is set to appear in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming film titled “Singham Again.” This movie also stars Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, and Akshay Kumar, among others. The release date for “Singham Again” is scheduled for November 1, 2024, in cinemas.
