This period thriller finds Miller portraying the troubled daughter of a character played by Emmy winner Sarah Paulson, who’s losing her sanity amidst 1930s dust storms in an isolated Oklahoma community. Notably, Miller has experience with historical productions and is set to appear in the forthcoming “The Madison”, a spin-off of “Yellowstone” alongside Michelle Pfeiffer.
Miller shared his heartfelt feelings about the project with MovieWeb, saying it’s a truly unique opportunity that he’s deeply appreciative of – a long-cherished dream come true. He’s always hoped to collaborate with Taylor Sheridan, and their paths crossed during screen tests. Excitedly, Miller vied for the part and secured it. Things are going exceptionally well, and at the moment, they’re shooting the series in Montana, a place he had never visited before. 1883 is my preferred choice among his works. To put it simply, I have a soft spot for period dramas, considering the genre of Hold Your Breath. Among them all, 1883 stands out as my favorite. However, he’s incredibly gifted and seems to have an endless stream of projects. He’s constantly editing one show, writing another, and then at wrap parties. I often find myself wondering how he manages to juggle so many tasks. But yes, he’s a powerhouse, and I feel truly fortunate that he believed in me enough to give me the role. Remarkably, he even called me personally to offer it. He said something like, “Hi Amiah, it’s Taylor. Would you like to be in my show?” To which I enthusiastically replied, “Yes, I definitely would, Taylor!
On Learning ‘So Much’ from Sarah Paulson
Prior to the debut of “The Madison“, fans can anticipate Miller delivering captivating performances in “Hold Your Breath“. The genuine mother-daughter dynamic she shares with Paulson is particularly noteworthy, as Miller shared with us: “Working with Sarah was fantastic because it felt authentic. I was simply reacting to her, if you catch my drift. In essence, that’s the dream, isn’t it?” She further expressed:
In my opinion, if you’re the most intelligent in any given setting, it probably means you’ve chosen the incorrect environment. You get it? I’ve learned so much from her and, to be honest, I’ve learned a great deal simply by observing her transform into someone entirely different. I find it fascinating to soak up such transformation. And yes, I believe my acting skills have evolved significantly by just being around her.
Miller shared with us that she was a big admirer of Paulson even before they both joined the series “Hold Your Breath“. In her own words, “I adored Ratched, adored American Horror Story. I must admit, I had already heard about her. When I found out that Margaret was played by Sarah Paulson, since I hadn’t read the script yet, I thought, ‘This is going to be fantastic… I want this role.’ And I’m relieved it all worked out.
