As someone who grew up with the animated Lilo & Stitch, I can’t help but feel a mix of nostalgia and excitement at the news of its live-action remake! Having watched it countless times, I remember connecting deeply with Lilo’s unique spirit and Stitch’s lovable chaos.
In simple terms, the real-life adaptation of “Lilo & Stitch” is set for release in cinemas on May 23, 2025.
In the movie, which is helmed by director Dean Fleischer Camp and penned by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright, Chris Sanders lends his voice to Stitch while Lilo will be voiced by Maia Kealoha.
Zach Galifianakis voices Dr. Jumba Jookiba, Stitch’s creator, and Billy Magnussen portrays the character on a mission to capture Stitch. Completing the principal cast is Sydney Agudong, who takes on the role of Lilo’s elder sister, Nani.
Disney initially announced plans for a live-action remake back in 2018, but it wasn’t until the year 2022 that they appointed Fleischer Camp as the director.
Stay tuned for more details on the upcoming Lilo & Stitch movie.
