As a long-time follower and admirer of Salman Khan, I have always been touched by his compassionate heart and selfless acts. The bond between him and Baba Siddique was truly remarkable, and it was heartening to see them work together for the betterment of society during difficult times like the nationwide lockdown.
The close and friendly relationship between actor Salman Khan and political leader Baba Siddique is well-known to all. Salman Khan frequently attended Baba Siddique’s Iftaar parties. In a show of true friendship, Salman publicly praised Baba Siddique and his son Zeeshan Siddique for providing meals to 125,000 people during the countrywide lockdown.
2020 saw Bollywood star Salman Khan post a picture on his social media (previously Twitter) featuring Baba Siddique, an elderly politician, and his son Zeeshan Siddique. In the photo, they were seen engaged in a private conversation while wearing masks and gloves, amidst bundles of ration packs for underprivileged families.
Salman acknowledged their action and gave them a significant acknowledgment, encouraging others to follow suit. He emphasized that it was essential for individuals to take part or delegate it to someone trustworthy. On Saturday, October 13, 2024, NCP leader Baba Siddique was fatally shot by three gunmen. Following the incident, he was quickly taken to Lilavati Hospital where his life was tragically lost. Not long after, well-known Bollywood personalities such as Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, and Shilpa Shetty with her husband Raj Kundra, along with others, arrived at the hospital to offer their support and comfort to the bereaved family during this challenging time.
Through a Facebook post, a member of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s group admitted responsibility for the murder. As reported by India Today, the viral post suggests that the slain politician was targeted due to his connections with Bollywood star Salman Khan and underworld figures such as Dawood Ibrahim and Anuj Thapan.
A variety of political figures, television/film personalities such as Sohail Khan, Arpita Khan, Alvira Agnihotri, Zareen Khan, MC Stan, Arbaaz Khan’s spouse Sshura Khan, Sooraj Pancholi, Veer and Shikhar Pahariya, along with their grandfather Sushil Kumar Shinde, were spotted visiting the residence of Siddique at Maqba Heights to express their condolences.
